Post fight whinging about being OK and the ref should have let it go on - No decent ref would have let Earl take more - Solid head punches are not good to watch and Earl had to be saved - Hes a bit of a twat and Eames was right about him, too brave for his own good - Sorry Graham you had your chance and the show is over - By the way you cost me £50.

it was plain to see Earl was going to get stopped. I was suprised how bigger khan was. as soon as the squared up i thought this fight is not going to last 2 rounds. i wish i had paid more attention to their heights and range i would have had a bet for khan to stop him in the first. Khan was looking for a big finish and he got it, all credit to him.

Why is he a twat??.... dont blame him because you shelled out £50 on a fight which most people could have told you was going to be a mismatch!. Earl got this shot because Khans people guessed rightly that he is just about shot as a fighter....

I hope he retires now as his punch resistance is just about nonexistent now....

You shouldnt risk the rest of your life disabled, getting beaten up - The man has a wife and kids to look after - You should allow your corner, the ref, to decide for your safety - If you dont you are a fool, twat whatever - Graham is a great lad brave as a lion but after getting caught the fight was over - Seriously the £50 isnt a problem, I rarely bet so an occasional flutter will do me no harm.

Most fighters will say that they couldve gone on to the camera, its very seldom that you'll get a fighter saying 'yeh I was fecked mate' ...its part of the make up of being a boxer. Graham is even more so like that than most fighters and I've no doubt that he truly felt that he could have carried on, which doesnt make him a twat but makes him too brave for his own good, which is one of the reasons why this fight shouldnt have been made in the first place...

good shout. I was in that camp with you and a few others on that one beforehand.
but there were a hell of a lot of people on this forum, some now in hiding for a few days - that were CERTAIN Earl would toy with Khan and knock him out. Wallies.
I haven't heard much of Earl to be honest but in the pre-fight interviews he came across as a nice lad, but i thought there was quite a bit of slurring going on almost and this lad needs to wrap in. He will clearly not get any higher than he already has and has had more hard nights than most British boxers.
I'm only aware of 3 or 4, namely Kevin Bennett (was out on his feet), Katsidis (which I missed, not that I regret it !!) and some foreigner I can't remember name of which was a see-saw war for 12 rounds. Apparently though he's been in about at least 10 wars the commentators were saying.
He needs to wrap in fighting and take his career in other directions, and good luck to you Graham, you have walked the walk :TU:

Just watched it. Earl was taking some fierce head shots and was totally disorganised. As a lot of fighters tend to do, they take a second or two in the corner to regain their senses then shake themselves down and protest they could have continued. But in the actual thick of the battle they were defenceless and taking flush blows. No complaints from me, Graham should retire he has little left to offer.

Graham didn't retire in order to wait for this pay-day.

I'm just bemused as to why he's described as the #1 in the UK, clearly, Jon Thaxton is.

And everyone was IN ON it. Not one person on the whole show mentioned him.

I think at the time of the fight, Earl was number #1... but Khan wasn't number #2.

Lets not forget - Thaxton had a massive struggle with Dave Stewart last time out... only recent defeat on Earl's record is too Kastidis and he has beaten Romanov.

Would Thaxton beat both Kastidis and Romanov?

khan is clearly #1 now

thaxton has looked shite in his last two

thaxton v murray for a shot at khan, but only if one looks good in beating the other

otherwise forget it

I think when it comes to rankings a lot of the time you have the champion and then a number one, number two etc. I think the commentators just failed to point that out. It's as though they were "in" on the fact that Warren doesn't intend for him to fight Thaxton. Frank afterwards said something about him going on to fight the European champion. I think Khan would beat Thaxton but it would be a good test and good experience for him as it would probably go the distance.

There is no reason for Thaxton to have to fight anybody for a shot at Khan. He is the champion so if Khan wants to be recognised as the best in Britain he has to beat him.

Earl's speech patterns seemed worringly slurred in the pre fight stuff. He should jack it in right now. The first solid shot Khan tagged him with put him over. Looks like his resistance is gone.

He didn't seem to be taking that many flush, not cos he was defending but cos Khan was throughing them from too close. I think your right that it could be he isn't in a position to really carry on.
