Who else thought Ricky looked worried pre-fight and was off his game? Mayweather's intimidation has worked on allot of fighters.

I'm not saying he hasnt out fought them but making the opponent feel inferior gives him an edge.

You have to hand it to Mayweather. Absolute class performance from a guy that outfought Hatton on his terms and still got a convincing win.

Hatton got himself in the fight that he needed to be in, but Mayweather nullified and combatted this without expending himself as much. Hatton shipped some very big shots and still came back to impose himself. It didn’t work.

This fight never played out the way I thought it would and the fact that PBF was happy to fight in close messing Hatton’s strengths up so much on the inside whilst throwing the better more hurtful shots shows him to be a very special fighter.

Hatton as usual showed himself to be a class act in defeat – but Mayweather deserves all the credit in this fight and has affirmed his right to being considered a P4P great fighter.

I thought that was quite a homo move.

I loved the way he said "well that was a fluke". Hatton is a really genuine world class fighter. He can come back and still kick some arses, so long as he trains right.

I find it hard to join a chorus of "well Done" and "good effort" because, in truth, I don't think it was.

There was heart there, for sure, but the seeming lack of any real game plan other than walk forward, grab and swing arms hopefully, just got found out against a fighter at the top of his game.

I am not sure what is in store for RH, I can't see too much point in fighting on. He has worked his way to the very top, put in a challenge, been found wanting and that IMHO, should be that.

Also, am I the only one who thought that although funny, RH showed less class that PBF in the post match. I can understand why with the disappointment etc, but I don't think he gave any credit to the fact that he was, basically, handed his arse on a plate by a very special fighter indeed

Thank God he didnt go to Germany - You can win fights there and still come away the loser.

I'm pleased that there was no taunting from Mayweather throughout the fight. He will have known quite early on that he had it wrapped up, but he remained pretty much poker faced.

He was almost too kind afterwards too. Have to credit him for that, he wasn't obliged to speak in any glowing terms about Ricky's ability, but he showed a lot of class there.

From a fans point of view Cotto is still the only match left to make, and represents a far tougher proposition that Hatton.

Ricky can be proud of what he has achieved, but lets be honest 140 is where he dominates and belongs - I do think the pressure got to him, all the reporters, all the build up plus Mayweather taunting him - He didnt look at ease and despite what he said about couldnt wait to get it on, when the time came, I dont think his mind was right - Mayweather performed in his usual brilliant way but took some leather as well - Dont think the fans can complain, it was a good fight - Sad though Ricky has a loss on his record.

BOTH LOOKED POOR AND PAST PRIME THOUGH DISAPOINTING PERFORMANCE LEVELS FROM BOTH. Ricky should have jabbed and look to have throw bodyshot combos and uppercuts at mid-range instead of hooking, he had success when he did that. PBF should have been faster he looked SLOW but had good timing

DID ANYONE NOTICE PBF TAKING A BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY IN R5?????????????? He was hurt and hid that side of his body for the next round.
I felt Floyd looked a natural welter in there - something I've never been convinced by and it may have had something to do with Ricky being a stumpy 140 fighter. But I felt when Floyd found the space, he looked special opening up with shots. He coped well under the mauling and was the stronger guy late. The knockdown punch was something special.

Not sure how Floyd will do against some of these big/powerful welters like Wiliams, Cotto etc though.

i thought hatton would lose on points, i'm shocked and gutted he was KO'd didn't expect that at all.

It seems like overall things could have gone better re the nervous build up, ref, pressuring more on the inside..

He still would have lost though. Mayweather was too good.

it just seemed that they became different ppl after the weigh on. hatton knowing how to milk the fans and mayweather looking a bit edgy. then on the day it did look like mayweather's cool would be a big advantage for the big fight atmosphere, especially as that flippin' awful undercard dragged and dragged on, with ricky enormously hyped up. mayweather couldn't quite hide being twitchy himself in the intros - i don't believe for a second that he is "bored with boxing" - but he's a naturally relaxed fighter and knows how to deal with things between the ropes.

Come on Floyd would have weighed 147 fight night, thats more a natural lightweight, where Ricky was aiming to weigh 155lbs according to Kerry Kayes. Ricky was stronger in the clinches against a man who came from 130lbs. It wouldnt have mattered if it was at 140 or 147

Cotto would look like Corrales hes taylor made for Mayweather with his plodding forward, easy to hit style

Williams may well be just too big with too much engine for Floyd

People keep saying about the size difference, but Mayweather was originally a 130 pounder!.... Ricky didnt lose because of size he lost because while he is a good fighter Mayweather is a great fighter, ...it takes greatness to be able to move up the weights and still beat the best out there.
Ricky did his best but Floyd was in a different class at the end.
The only big fight left for Ricky now is Junior Witter at 140...

Well done Hatton for going over there and fighting the best but I don't think he fought a good fight. Having Cortez on his case probably didn't help matters. Mayweather should not have been allowed to turn his back and duck under every time Hatton got close. A tougher referee would have clamped down on that then Hatton would have been able to work inside early. Seems to me Cortez only allowed the ingfighting once the pace dropped and Mayweather was returning fire in the clinches. Early on he was breaking them apart for no reason.

Anyway no sour grapes Mayweather was just too good.
