Remember him coming to the fore on Frank Maloney shows - then going onto Sportsnetwork shows - Bloody good and for me better than Burdis!!

I worry for Gary Logan every time he takes the mike, he's already invented a new country which is called Great Briddan, and there was another absolute CLANGER the other week which I had to ask if I had just heard but can't recall it and then there was that beauty a few weeks ago when someone or other, think it was Thaxton, made his, and I quote "sex....sexful.......successful defence"
basically this guy's got the job cos he's a black face on TV and I'm all for equality.......I have no issue with the bloke and I like his cheerful persona etc.....he seems genuinely interested in the boxing , but he wouldn't get a job on the 6 o'clock news.
As for Pass, I thought he was good but my girlfriend absolutely loved the guy, I don't know why , maybe it was his orange sheen, think it was cos she said he always looked like he was about to start laughing.......I didn't care.......it meant you know who got to watch the boxing instead of shitty ugly betty !

I noticed that, thought the home brew might have been allowed to ferment a little to long when I heard it but there it was.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:a few weeks ago when someone or other, think it was Thaxton, made his, and I quote "sex....sexful.......successful defence"
I prefer it simple, shout out the boxers names and don't fall on your arse when getting out of the ring.
Ringcard girls; The telly does it's level best to keep them out of shot which I think is a mistake. The Wigan bill had some interesting ringcarders wearing George Cross bras. If the promoter goes to the trouble then the telly should show some respect.
I watched a friends compilation video of his fights one night and the ringcard girls were a pretty good indicator of his progress. His early amateur fights had the promoters daughter waving the cards, a portly lass in hotpants
It all adds to the sport.
Watching the Vegas undercard they had another guy who was really good then wheeled out Buffer for the main event. They know how to sell the whole show.
Over here we get burdis and logan, both are very amateurish not what you want fronting a show on primetime telly.
John mcdonald is very good but he only seems to do the matchroom stuff. Tommy Gilmour has a really good mc doing his shows in scotland, they should take a look at him

Pass was sacked for being unreliable and continuously late for shows and not turning up for big weigh-in's. Not a bad MC but you can't have unreliable people. He alos sterted to think hge was more imprtant than the boxers and was a celebrity himself. fornicate me, Buffer aside, an MC wearing raybans indoors, posing for pictures and signing autographs!

Also McDonald is faultless too, and a great chap by all accounts.
I have heard this from boxers who have shared the accommodation.
Did you go to the fight Steve. What was the atmosphere like?steve689 wrote:Michael Pass was the best SN had, Mark Burdis is out of his depth, don't know why they use him. Mike Goodall made it through his whole King's Hall announcements without dropping a bollock which was unusual. At least there were no national anthems played so he could bellow "Respect!" at any booing
Probably all that being an extra for corrie went to his head.boxingchat wrote:Pass was sacked for being unreliable and continuously late for shows and not turning up for big weigh-in's. McDonald is the best MC in Britain, not even close.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:.robster wrote:Watching the Vegas undercard they had another guy who was really good then wheeled out Buffer for the main event. They know how to sell the whole show.

Goodall dropped a bit of a bollock recently at Don Valley in Sheffield. Howard Foster jumped in, completely in the right, to rescue a debutant who was getting a shellacking.
His fans booed and Goodall justified their idiotic point of view by saying "Better to stop it one punch too early than one punch too late!"
Of course, he's right, but it was a stop on finish anyway!
Mike is one hard working mofo though, I'll give him that.
