What evidence did "everyone" have that Earl is not the same since his last fight? Eastmountpicko, even you said that you expected Graham to be a test because like everyone else you couldn't have known.eastmountpicko wrote:Everyone Knows Earl Isnt The Same Man After The Katsidis Beating Why Do You Think Warren Picked Him He Aint Daft. No one was saying this before the fight so dont start saying it now. 4 fukking times i've heard it already on these boards. Earl wasnt shot, he was in the shape of his life so he was saying over at skysports.com. Khan knocked fukk out of him. Deal with it...![]()
I haven't had the benefit of watching the fight, being stuck in Las Vegas, but it sounds the the matchmaking was sound and the result was surprising due to either Khan better than expected performance or Earl's decline. Probably a mix of both.

In Britain, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that Khan actually fought last night.
There has been very little mention of the fight, because of the Ricky Hatton bandwagon that has been hijacked by people that know little or nothing about boxing.

And the fact that Khan isn't a serious fighter anyway. He's a wild fighter. No one cares about him enough yet. Though I am ecstatic he did a number on Earl.Syntax Error wrote:In Britain, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that Khan actually fought last night.![]()

Taking nothing away from Khan, he fought the right fight - Nobody predicted a first round stoppage because Earl can take as good as he gives - He just starts slowly, while Khan gets down to business straight away - Earl didnt defend well enough and paid the price - Khan landed a cracker and Earl never recovered - Had Earl ridden the storm by round 5 I think he would have had Khan in trouble - The ref was absolutely right stopping it when he did, I think any ref would - Earl was being hit with some force - Nothing left now for Earl, he has had his chances and thats that - As for Khan he did a great job, but the chin still hasnt been tested - He has moved up another level though and things are looking good for him.
It's a great win for Khan, it's how a world class prospect is supposed to look. With Khan, Murray, Barker, Appleby, Truscott on the way up, Britain's boxing future looks secure IMO.
Though it was a cosmetic win, it will give Khan a lot of confidence. He was controlled, the punches came naturally and he was fast and strong looking. Good to see a fast fighter like Khan with good finishing instincts.
Great future. He needs big statement wins like this, mixed in with the kind of awkward, learning fights that Murray had on Friday.

Well everyone,
Do you think FW will make the Thaxton fight happen?
It has to happen, Khan still has to tie up the domestic scene before he even thinks about mixing it with the big boys. I would expect this fight with the belts on the line and a great show put on for the fans.
I am already looking forward for the announcement.

I'm not a Khan fan, but the result has to be said is impressive. However on the other side you could say Earl was finished and more importantly a 1st round KO can be really misleading....
Anyone can be caught cold in the 1at and there wasn't enough time to see what Khan was made of. But you can 't help but be impressed by the result.

Khan got the job done swiftly and impressively, and I hope the Thaxton fight isn't long coming. That's the real British showdown.
Being from Norwich I would love to see this fight. I would fancy Kahn but Jono won't get embarrassed like Earl did.
I think there is a realistic possibility that Jono sticks Kahn on his arse before the young lad gets up and knocks him out. Would be a good fight though and definitely the one Kahn should go for next.

I have looked back over recent topics. Many of those dismissing Earl in this thread are among those who lauded his chances prior to the fight. Why not give young Khan some credit? He did a number on a respectable opponent! The 'man's strength' he may have been lacking is clearly increasing through a combination of natural maturing and weights and his finishing was exceptional. Leave it at that.
