Watched this last night, I'd never seen it all the way through before.....5 point margins on every card? That was bull, I had it a draw.
Dramatic fight, I hope Magee gets a return, Hatton should be keeping busy anyway and it's unlikely he's gonna get three or four big names in mancland next year, that's assuming he gets even one.
What do you think, would the safety inspector (Warren) dare make a busy fight wth Magee? Would the WBU back Magee and push for their two "champions" to face off?

(btw, anyone who digs out a tape and watches may be as surprised as I was by how much smaller Hatton looked than he does now)

I always had that fight closer than the cards as well. I honestly think that it you watch it and forget who the champion and hometown fighter is it looks like a completely different fight. Mind you Magee still threw it away by not being busy enough.

I would be surprised if they had a rematch at least not for a while untill Hatton has fried bigger fish.

I could see this coming off if Hatton lost a fight or something.

In any event, hasn't Magee made it clear he is now a Welterweight ?

I was at the fight and was astounded at how little Magee used the ring. At one point the pro Hatton crowd cheered/jeered as Magee moved from a position he had been occupying for what seemed like whole rounds.

Hatton did well to get passed such a dangerous counter puncher, FW will be in no rush for them to meet again.

Yeah I remember that as well, he sayed in his own corner round after round. I think he just wanted to save himself the walk back at the end of the round!

I actually scored it for Hatton but only by a point (which does seem harsh).

As for any rematch, the only chance I see it happening is as a voluntary defence if one of them wins a major title belt. Its obviously very easy to make and I do believe there is some unfinished business there, but both are going on different routes, despite what Magee says.

Magee will go for Welterweight glory.

I had it 116-112 Hatton, Magee could have won it he just was too lazy.

Magee is an out-and-out counterpuncher. He HATES coming forward. That's why he stayed on the ropes so much and kept trying to goad Hatton into a fight. Hatton, unlike Jimmy Vincent, was too smart to fall for it.

But the frustrating thing was that when he boxed on the backfoot (i.e. threw more the 1 punch a round) and used his jab he had the better of Hatton. The 10th and 12th were Magee rounds.

I think the KD was the worse thing that happend to Magee, he started to believe (with some reason) that he could KO Hatton with one-punch, thats what he went to do.

Perhaps he disguising pain better than most, maybe Hatton early round punches hurt Magee more than I'm giving him credit for. One thing I don't bye is the "Hatton changed style half way through" stuff that Darke was saying. For me it was Magee who changed his approach - he went from boxing well to doing next to nothing.
