To British Fans, from an American

I have to say, you guys are amazing. All the hoopla about booing the national anthem (lord knows people have enough to boo about in regards to America these days), I was incredibly impressed about the dedication. THey were stuck in the back, back corner of MGM Grand, yet the drumming and the cheering and chanting could be heard from Manfredo-Lacy and on.

I was also incredibly impressed with the fans still being as loud as ever after the, appreciating the effort Hatton put in. You guys are awesome, and I'd love it if we could borrow you for the Patriots vs Steelers game today and blow the eardrums off of Pittsburgh.

Not trying to put out an olive branch or kiss ass, but you guys are fans in the truest form and sports are better off with people like you guys.

Other than the booing of the USA National Anthem the fans were awesome. Hatton tried his utmost but was simply in the ring with a better fighter, therefore he deserved the support from his fans for his unquestionable effort. Big respect.

thanks I appreciate that and some American guy said the same thing to me. But I have to admit sometimes I thought some of the fans acted like dickheads and was embarassed to be British.......

it's a noble post Matty and will be appreciated by many.
i was at home watching on TV........you should NEVER, EVER boo anyone's national anthem.
To be honest I take it further when I go to a show I always applaud, however entusiastically, both boxers into the ring, even when I'm heavily in favour of one over the other. It's is just something I do by way of respecting the fact that both boxers are putting it on the line and if your guy beats their guy then one day your guy might be the guy in their guys shoes taking the beating. I feel a better person because of it.

Yes the anthem booing was a pity but completely predictable, but let's not detract from the good........I could hear the noise reverberating round my front room, they did Ricky and this country and themselves proud in that respect

Thanks Matty, but you flatter us a little. The bottle throwing was a fcking disgrace, along with the booing, but I was singing my tits out to the very end and the Americans generally were modest after the event.

I'm glad the fans didn't stop singing even after the fight. By far the best atmosphere I've ever experienced. The God Save Our Queen was my favourite moment ever.

i chanted shouted and sang myself sick (literally, i was dry heaving into a a plastic bag a few occasions on friday and staurday) right up til the outcome, at which point i cried and cried and cried :(
