He's retired, so why is he still brought up in every Froch thread. He's never coming back.

Let it go....Bute, Kessler, Pavlik - let's see how Carl does with them.

They're all winnable for him...
Agree with this entirely. Well, except the Kessler bit - I can't see Froch beating him.

I don't blame Froch for trying to goad Calzaghe (who I think would hand Carl a lesson) one last time but for me if it doesn't work this time, and I don't think it will, then he should drop it.

The constant talking about Joe annoys me.

Interviewer: So Carl, what did you have for breakfast this morning?
Carl Froch: I had eggs and bacon.....which is different to what Joe Calzaghe normally eats, seeing that you asked me about Joe................................

The 2 of them have never fought & one them isn't even a fighter anymore, yet they re always getting mentioned together.

Froch is a good fighter in his own right & he doesn't need to live in the shadow of a man who he hasn't even shared a ring with.
Carls fault entirely. Why did he have to call out Calzaghe after beating Taylor? Froch makes the connection and has done for years. If he didnt then others would be less inclined to. I bet you could hear Calzaghe laughing all over Wales when Froch told him to come out of retirement. Froch didnt cope well with Taylors speed so I think its silly to think he could beat Joe.

Froch needs to work on his defense before looking at Kessler. Kessler has power, accuracy and a good chin.

I think he has a big target on his head. People mentioning Bute and Kessler etc but I could see him losing to someone unheralded before he gets the unifcation fights

Froch is a bit of Super-Middleweight Junior Witter - I too could see an unheralded Bradley type opponent turning him over.

Although perhaps I'm being unfair on Carl, perhaps Taylor was doing a Bradley on him but he showed a lot more heart than Junior and really went for it, turning things round and culminating in the stoppage.

how is taylor 2-1 at SMW?

Wrong way round, 1-2, not 0-2 though!
The second fight with Pavlik was at catchweight, so Taylor is 1-1 at SMW. :shame: :D

I don't see anything wrong in calling out Calzaghe. Calzaghe has beaten Jones, Kessler and Hopkins and therefore would be the best name on Froch's record. He has only just retired and boxers retire and unretire all the time, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Also, Calzaghe said Froch brought nothing because he was unknown in the States. That is clearly no longer the case.

Having said that, I think Calzaghe will stay retired so Froch is wasting his breath - but that doesn't mean it wasn't a legitimate thing to try. It's clearly not the same as sad Vitali Klitschko calling out Lennox years after he retired. Lennox is a portly middle-aged man sitting on a beach with a beauty queen. He is not in the business of hitting people anymore.
