Bellew looked to me like he was going to win it anyway , and id have not ruled out him stopping ovil either , but stoppage was crap , props to bomber for coming back the way he did , but a rematch of that one wouldnt go a miss

First time I've seen Bellew, I'm ashamed to say, and I like what I see and hear. Don't think he'll go far beyond domestic level, but he should be a Farnell-style ticket seller. He's both vulnerable and a heavy hitter, and he's so incredibly fit. He's got a super personality, too: again, right out of the Farnell book, confident and open. Really, really like him. Cracking TV fighter.

Good luck to him.

he just provided us a great fight, he has ball's like an elephant im a big fan.
Great heart, but I've heard him talk like that before after a fight - I think it was against an African I had never heard of.

Maybe Bellew's going to move up to cruiser then? It looks like it would be a good idea. Nice win tonight. A bit scary to start with, but maybe Bellew was lacking a bit of confidence? He seemed all right once he got going.

agreed, well entitled to be pumped up straight after that fight. It's not like he said it in the interview.

Bellew vs Cleverley would be a great next fight.

Oh my days!

I'm never betting on a prospect again. My poor feckin' heart.

I really like Bellew, I think his power's legit, but he's just so lethargic defensively. He's going to get murdered by someone with a bit of accuracy and power, and I'm doubtful it'll be in much higher a class than he was in with tonight.

Bellew's found his level and he shouldn't be fighting guys above this level until he shows some serious improvement.

How many times is that he has been put down in his (short) career?

I'm sorry but bomber hasn't got the chin to match his boxing style. These guys are fringe british title level guys, they are not even the best domestically and yet he is getting put on his bum. If you're gona be a gung-ho power puncher, then you need a decent chin, otherwise get back in the gym and learn some defensive skills!

Also I thought some of Farnell's advice in the corner tonight was nothing short of ridiculous. Where was the tactical guidance? It was all 'think of your family' steretypical Rocky stuff, where was the calm head in the corner which seemed to be needed? Where was the tellings off for going in gung-ho?

I am not at all convinced! But like some of you have said, he's entertaining and watchable. Cleverly would school him.

bellew goes down like he's been shot due to being tight at the weight, he may make the weight but it takes it out of him ive allway's said his optimum weight is 13-7 & with gravy in his belly he'll bang harder, i think his power is drained aswell.

That's a fair point if you ask me. He's got the speed and punch of a cruiserweight.

Looked as though he was drugged in there tonight, very sloppy.

to be fair im not too knowledgable about most of the trainers etc but i agree he wasnt given the right advice in the corner , it was all motivational which i dont believe was right in that situation against mckenzie

THAT STOPPAGE WAS A DISGRACE :shame: Flash knock down (look at the right hands he had taken prior to the left hook landing) and he was defending himself when the fight was stopped.

Great fight. Stoppage ten seconds too soon. Bomber is good value but his legs are too skinny, its enzo again.

I don't think you can say it was 10 seconds too soon, when McKenzie could have made a recovery from the knockdown.

He might have been able to finish the fight. He could have still won.

Exactly, who knows what could have happened, we got denied that. The fans suffer as do smaller boxers such as McKenzie who aren't supposed to win. Boxing is just crap at times like this.
