Groves fought like a moron in the second fight. Even saying that he was winning the fight until he got caught with the right hand while throwing the left hook, which he was looking for all night and saying he was going to KO Carl with. He fell out with Paddy Fitz over that left hook strategy if I recall. It's all about opinions of course but Carl was comprehensively beaten by backfooter Dirrell who got robbed for me and was well on his way to losing against Taylor until the 12th round rally when Taylor ran out of gas. Maybe he always gets to Groves but clearly a strategy of utilising a lot of mobility was what George should have been doing rather than remaining pretty flat footed in both fights. He just believed in his power and Carl was someone he knew he could hit with his best shots. He then went and fought Eubank with the tactics he should have fought against Froch, constantly backfoot. I found it frustrating to be honest but now he has to live with people thinking Carl was always the better fighter and would KO him any time they fought. He deserves it I suppose.

I was at Groves v Froch II. I've just checked the scorecards. At the end of round 7 Froch was a round up on 2 scorecards and down 3 on the other. I've not checked the specific round analysis but being there, clearly remember momentum had turned to Froch.

I had Groves quite far ahead, I remember. Thought the rounds were close but clear. Really thought he was going to do it that time.

Groves fought his perfect fight in the first fight. He's never looked better since, or before. Froch still got to him. Stoppage was poor, but writing on the wall.

In the 2nd, i had him well up but again froch was rushing him and making George uncomfortable. I dont think george could have fought much better, he was just up againt a much tougher man.

Like him or loathe him, froch isnt easy for any1. Ward is the only boxer who comprehensively best him and hes a HOF.

How 2 of the judges had ward narrowly is baffling. The English judge had it a lot more accurate with ward wide

Really? Had no idea. Yeah he just beat him up. Awful watch is Ward but absolute elite.
