There's been so many po-faced people that have called radio stations in the UK pontificating about that, but they need to ask themselves whether they would have celebrated the killing of Adolf Hitler at the end of WW2, or the killing of the top man in the IRA in the 1970s etc.
I have no problems with the fact that many Americans were jubilant about the killing of Bin Laden.
At least they're honest & show their emotions, which is not a bad thing in my book.
Teddy may throw his toupee in the air on such a momentous day; 'Tramp The Dirt Down' anyone?DavidPayne wrote:They'll hate it if they do a live broadcast from South Yorkshire when Thatcher croaks it......they'll have bunting out in Barnsley.Syntax Error wrote:It was a joy to see the American people celebrating when news that Bin Laden was now squid bait filtered through.

Because in a trial he would have said 'I was trained and armed by the CIA for the first 12 years of my terrorism career' which would have made the coalition look stupid - that and you know like Saddam Hussein - he would have faced that noose without any fear at all which was a dire contrast to the cowardly Cowboy Bush. Bullet in the head was the only way to go.keithmoonhangover wrote:I'm not a muslim, I'm not a muslim lover or a muslim hater.
I thought the whole idea of us going into Iraq and Libya was to free the people and give them democracy. Why didn't they fire non fatal shots, get him out there and put him on trial?
I'm not suppporting the scumbag, I'm just making a point.
My Uncle a hundreds of other Miners are going to London to celebrate when Maggie kicks the bucket.DavidPayne wrote:They'll hate it if they do a live broadcast from South Yorkshire when Thatcher croaks it......they'll have bunting out in Barnsley.Syntax Error wrote:It was a joy to see the American people celebrating when news that Bin Laden was now squid bait filtered through.

It depends I look at it in two ways, it's quite noble that somebody will be willing to take their own life for something that they believe in, however it is cowardly to take the life of people who want no part of what you believe in.simon fox wrote:Carlos has a good point there.
As well; I never really got the idea that suicide bombers were cowardly. They've more knackers than me (and that's the women as well).

That's because the Russians are genuinely insane, not one country in the world would dare to mess with them.Coco wrote:I think if any other country did it in the US it would start a war!simon fox wrote:Just the US?Coco wrote: It depends who does it,the U.S have carte blance to assinate anyone under the auspices of counter terrorism
The Russians poisoned one of their double agents in London, it caused an international incident and the Russians were heavily criticised for breaking international law etc but no one had the balls to enforce it.
Carbo wrote:Banjo is quite right (and it's not often you'll hear me say that): suicide bombers are, in general, cowards. They view themselves as soldiers in a war against the US, or the west, or liberal ideology, or whatever, and yet I've noticed how often they tend to explode themselves in market places, busy streets, mosques, synagogues, school buses, hotels and other places tightly packed with innocent members of the public.
If they're really soldiers, surely you'd have thought that they'd attack other soldiers. But no, far easier to attack a woman pushing her child in a pram, or a market with housewives picking up bread and vegetables, or an office where fat, sedentary bankers work.
Cowards, yes.

No, I am not going 10,000 miles to help murder kill and burn other people to simply help continue the domination of white slavemasters over dark people the world over. This is the day and age when such evil injustice must come to an end

Well, this may sound good when chatting in the student kitchen with your Che Guevara t-shirt-wearing friends, but I think you'll find the world is more complex than that.Coco wrote:I think Ali summed it up well when he refused to go to Vietnam
