Re: Groves ridicules Froch with mock photo

Its a wonder groves didnt have whiplash after some of them shots he took in the lead up to the stoppage
Nathan Cleverly can't fight buddy. And Andre Ward STILL can't crack an egg.tonyevs wrote:Yes I do.Riddick Blowe wrote:
Do you still think Cleverly would beat Froch?
Just because Nathan lost to a guy who looks set to be the top man in the lightheavy division hasn`t changed my mind.
And based on how Froch performed in his last fight, kinda makes me more confident that Nathan would win.
But its all opinion as to who would and wouldn`t win in that mythical match up anyways.
Its also my opinion that Froch does not realistically ever expect Ward to fight him again. Ward was clearly too good for Carl last time, and Ward has improved - whilst Carl shown signs of slipping.
And based on that. I really do believe Ward would stop Carl if they ever fought again ..
But Ward is in the mix nowadays (once his contract is sorted) for bigger and better fights than what Froch offers.
I think the Chavez fight is what Froch will go looking for.
The thought crossed my mind ... but there is far too much money to be had for certain fights .. for example Chavez Jr in Vegas would line Carl's pockets very nicely.Parson Cross wrote:It ain't gonna happen.
I still think there's a chance Carl could call it quits.
It is much different. Groves showed that he was able at world level, Haye showed that he wasn't ready.[/quote]hurlock wrote:Groves could be potentially ruined by a soon retiring froch. It's no different to when haye took on Thompson, had he jumped straight back in he wouldn't be where he is today
Good post although I'm not so sure about the Froch performance flattering him. I think he surprised a few people not least Carl and Rob.hurlock wrote:I was at Hayes fight v Thompson & Thompson was taking a hiding & haye gassed, which was the only reason he got beat, he wasn't getting buzzed or rocked about, he just shot his bolt. I think shortly after he boxed that Mohamed geezer & carried the guy the full hog so he could mentally feel secure, he said after the fight he wanted to do the rounds & fans were pi$$ed but it served its purpose.
Groves needs to capitalise on the positives from this fight, even by beating degale never raised his profile as high as what I'd of thought, but taking on froch & having the success he had has really raised his stock & flatters him to an extent.hes made aload of new fans & I feel he has created a good following he can build on & get some wins because a good British fan base is big buisness in world boxing & ppv figures
agree 100 % on that, but its not just groves thats disrespecting froch.....there are plenty of idiots on here , fans at the fight and general boxing fans, who are giving froch stick for winning a difficult fight.Spud wrote:The thought crossed my mind ... but there is far too much money to be had for certain fights .. for example Chavez Jr in Vegas would line Carl's pockets very nicely.Parson Cross wrote:It ain't gonna happen.

I know boxing has a lot of banter, but, I find Groves before the fight, immediately after the fight and now, as a total and utter ****.
The way he is disrespecting a fine world champion in Froch ... also listening to certain interviews afterwards you would think he has got where he is today without any help, and the only time he states otherwise is when he credits Paddy Fitspatrick his new trainer - time will prove me TOTALLY correct on him.
I cannot stand him - he moves straight into No1 of my chart of "dislike of people" he makes a certain promoter look like a pussy cat. A time will come if he does not wake up soon where he will totally regret 2013 for the way he has disrespected people.

If that's how you want to look at it. George could say he was headlining PPV's at The O2 whilst Carl was fighting on the road on Primetime. Or, when he was 25, Carl was on Leisure Centre UNDERCARDS.
Whichever way you cut it, Groves has had 2 big fights and both times he was the 'opponent'. A British title fight is never PPV worthy.
After beating Degale he went on to fight 6 times, 5 of which he was not the headline attraction and was on the undercard. Groves vs Kessler would not sell out the 02 at all, let alone in under an hour.
Against Glen Johnson where he was regarded as the main fight , I'm sure Burns & Cleverly were in the mix to headline and they all fell by the wayside and only then did his fight emerge at the top and there was plenty of spare seats in that audience.
Whatever Groves does next he shall be the 'Opponent' , whether that is Froch or anyone else.
It would appear promoter's simply have not had the commitment from him to pump huge sums of cash into putting him as a headline and forking out to get a champion in. He is thinking like a heavyweight superstar and in reality he is a super middle who lost his last fight.
Unless he signs a big deal with Hearn with multiple fights in it the contract, he will be viewed as something of a lone ranger.
One things for sure, if Froch decides to tell him to piss off, his aspirations of seven-figure purses in his next fight go up in smoke. Whereas Froch has paid his dues and has a super 6 solid relationship with the boss of HBO in Ken Hershman, who is one of Froch's biggest fans.
People forget that Carl can pick up a million+ purse from various HBO fights.
Whereas Groves has his little funny pictures and his twitter hastags - and they don't put a roof over your head.
The guy is something of a parasite, he has dined on that Degale win for years, and now he looks set to dine out on the stoppage to Froch.
Life isn't fair - and when you act like a wind-up merchant and dick both during and after the fight (that you also lost) then why should the guy you are giving stick, do you any favours whatsoever ?
Serious question though Spud and without meaning to start a ruckus, how much of your dislike of Groves goes back to you working with Adam and David though?Spud wrote:The thought crossed my mind ... but there is far too much money to be had for certain fights .. for example Chavez Jr in Vegas would line Carl's pockets very nicely.Parson Cross wrote:It ain't gonna happen.

Work it out yourself!! you are an intelligent chap!!mickey1975 wrote:Has anyone found out yet what Groves said that was disrespectful? Spud? GOmez?
Fair enough question - A lot!!columbo wrote:Serious question though Spud and without meaning to start a ruckus, how much of your dislike of Groves goes back to you working with Adam and David though?
Who says he's avoiding Groves? He's just not facing him next. Groves did very well but repeatedly lost his composure when under attack. He needs to address that weakness before he gets in the ring with Carl again and I hope he does. Let Carl try to remove the only unavenged loss on his record against the king of the division and then bow out of the sport with the Groves rematch.Power777 wrote:Froch has lost his bottle if he avoids Groves. Anyone saying otherwise is a liar.
If Allen Green dropped a younger, less shop worn Kessler I see no reason why Groves couldn't do the same and possibly finish it. I'd also 100% back Groves over Bute as there's no way Bute would take some of the shots that Froch.Maxsplit wrote: I would 100% favour Bute to beat Groves too if he comes through Pascal. Dirrell would stop him (see sparring story above as featured in Haye vs Klitschko buildup in Miami) and Kessler would beat him too. UNLESS you think Groves would be the first person to EVER stop him when Calzaghe, Ward and Froch (twice) couldn't![]()
I am going to put this out there for all to quote back at me:
The Carl Froch fight vs Groves last month will in all likelihood be George Groves CAREER best performance![]()
If Groves doesn't mentally move on this will necessarily be the reality.
It is a narrative we have all seen play out many times before in boxing.
There is about as much point in Froch fighting Ward as there is in Mayweather fighting JMM again. The fight was not even remotely close regardless of what the cards say.nobby_nobbins wrote:Who says he's avoiding Groves? He's just not facing him next. I would favour Groves to knock out Bute and would love to see the fight.jtourettes wrote:If Allen Green dropped a younger, less shop worn Kessler I see no reason why Groves couldn't do the same and possibly finish it. I think there's greater things to come from Groves and personally I'd love to see Froch give him a rematch so everybody can get a conclusive ending. If not, Groves does need to drop it soon even though I think he was hard done by.
Pascal at Light Heavy now??lillywhite14 wrote:Bute is going to be finished after Pascal.
What about Pascal? Can't see George being too keen on that.
Yeah he is, but people are suggesting Bute who is fighting at light heavy now.Spud wrote:Pascal at Light Heavy now??lillywhite14 wrote:Bute is going to be finished after Pascal.

In reality he will fighter neither. I'm looking forward to seeing who George goes in with next, assuming it ain't Froch. I can see him treading water by dropping down a level unfortunately.
Of course he will. He was a challenger who lost who also has no promoter!lillywhite14 wrote:Yeah he is, but people are suggesting Bute who is fighting at light heavy now.Spud wrote:Pascal at Light Heavy now??lillywhite14 wrote:Bute is going to be finished after Pascal.

Very harsh ... but true!!Final round wrote:Eddie bought him as Froch fodder and the meal bit back!!
