Groves ridicules Froch with mock photo

Post by ALI »

Created by George himself, according to BS anyway;

Image

I thought this was pretty funny, Froch must be feeling like a bell end right now. IMO, by dodging this rematch he is going to damage the legacy he has worked so long and hard to achieve, he would be better of just fghting Groves again, taking the loss, and maintaining the respect he has built up over the years.

I hope Groves keeps the pressure on :DD

Oh dear, doubt that will be showing in ringside anytime soon!

Nope it'll be on with the Froch v Ward PPV in May. Groves should get with allegedly and go for the WBO belt. Doesn't look like there is any other options at the moment.

I can see the rematch happening.somtimes you need public anticipation run high so people are relieved it's happening & everyone buys it.
George is still the challenger who was stopped, but seems to think he's pulling the strings. Lets see if this young hungry lion will take what's on offer, he will look a prize ass if he turns it down

Shocking PPV if it happens.

Based on their first fight the rematch is not warranted, i seriously doubt anyone would give Froch any real chance of winning.

Would this fight sell on PPV???

I think it could sell. Froch is still a big draw and given he hasn't lost since the last fight 2 years ago, he is still the number 2 and Ward's closest challenger.

I don't think it is right, I would rather he fought Groves again, but from the last soundbite the International Superstar doesn't seem to want it anymore.

Pascal
Taylor
Dirrell
Kessler x2
Abraham
Johnson
Ward
Bute
Groves

Dude can do what he wants when he's been mixing in that company for the last 5 years, cant he?

Besides, Groves is so high on the fact that he has arrived at world level maybe he should just work on building a resume of his own rather than chasing a Froch rematch. He should put himself out there, maybe he can get himself a shot at Ward and show Froch how its done, or lure Golovkin up to 168 with those photoshop skills. Hell, if he just wants a gimme at world level there is always the shop worn Kessler to go after..... Can't wait to see who he fights next if its not Froch.

I think Kessler is a great fight for Groves if Froch ducks him.

I'd like to see if Groves can prove he can fight for twelve rounds against another relentless opponent like Bika.

If he Froch fights Ward next then he isn't ducking anybody. Ward is the best fighter in and around that division by a mile and would stand Groves on his head with little trouble.

I'm intrigued as to who George will face if he doesn't secure an immediate Froch rematch.

There are a ton of quality fights out there for Groves, but I have a feeling if the rematch doesn't happen he will be content to fight the Yusaf Macks of the division while moaning about how he deserves a Froch rematch. Meanwhile Carl "the bottler" Froch will be in there with Ward, Golovkin or Stevenson inside his next 2 fights.

Sakio Bika is very beatable these days.

Groves would stop him.

Froch is a lot easier to hit than some of the names mentioned here.

Based on their respective last performances, Kessler should be a decent opponent for Groves. I don't think it would work out all that well though for George. Mikkel is extremely tough and durable himself. Can envisage Groves being dragged in to deep waters in that one.

If the rematch doesn't happen, Froch will almost certainly be in the ring with a lineal champ inside his next 2 fights, but is apparently running scared.... Groves will be in the ring with, at best, Sakio Bika inside his next 2 fights.

Groves is pushing the rematch as he's got nowhere else to go otherwise. Froch can take on Groves/Ward/Chavez/GGG he holds all the cards and Georgie boy knows it

That pretty much sums it up :TU:

As time goes by Groves is going to look increasingly like a whinging ex who has been dumped and not moved on.

There is only so much sympathy in the well, and it will run dry very quickly when Froch announces his next opponent who will be higher ranked and have a much better resume than Groves.

"When the ref stopped the fight, I was about to take it up a level and start showing Carl new things." - Groves on Sky Sports News the next day.

Nah, Groves did well but he was running on fumes by the time the (premature) stoppage came. He starts staggering into no-mans land, completely disorientated as Foster jumps in.

If he didn't step in, what would have happened next? he would have turned his back on Froch or ate a serious shot indeed.

Didn't froch say that ward was boring, had no real fanbase and the rematch wouldn't sell. I'm sure thats the song he was singing around the time of the kessler bout.
I'm sure he said the third fight with kessler would be favourable over a rematch with ward

Now, after the fright of his life against the impudent groves, the ward fight is the more favourable route

I don't think carl fears anyone. But i think he fears what the L on his record does for his legacy.

At the time of the. Kessler fight he didn't want a ward fight because it was an inevitable addition to his L column while a kessler fight was a winnable fight that would gain him plaudits and would be a war either way.
Now he realises a loss to the no2 p4p is less damaging than a potential loss to a man he stated had no right to set foot in a ring with him.

Carls an astute guy, but still needs to man up and just face groves whatever the outcome

Watch this from 8:39 onwards when he mentions Ward. Does that sound like a guy that's confident in reversing the result to you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0crle3TFWc ........ regarding Groves, I dont think what he's doing is a smart tactic to be honest. Whilst some fighters in Froch's place would get all riled up and immediately want the rematch, Carl strikes me as the type who would deliberately not give the rematch to George because of the shit talking. I think George's tactics are gonna backfire.

It might be as simple as Froch would rather lose to Ward again than Groves (though I don't think he'd lose). I also agree that it'll probably get Carls back up and he is one of those who will just skip the fight to spite him. I'm sure Eddie alluded to the fact in one of his last interviews - still find it a bit strange that he doesn't seem bothered about signing him at all. Wouldn't take much to speculate that he just doesn't like him on a personal level.

I think Eddie said he didnt want to sign him incase it pissed off Carl or something and incase Carl thought Eddie was on George's side. Quite a bizarre one haha.
