Re: Martin vs Kownacki

That was an entertaining scrap. Neither will threaten the top 5 or so in the division but can be still be involved in plenty of well-matched fights with the other guys between 6/7 and 15, particularly Kownacki.
Kownacki got a few people excited when he stopped Szpilka, but I haven't been impressed since then. He was outboxed by a fresh Kiladze for the first couple of rounds before his size and chin eventually wore out the Georgian, who should really still be at 200lbs if he can make it. That tactic might be enough against a certain level of opponent, but as we saw on Saturday, it's not going to be enough when he steps up in levels. I think the 6-4 cards were pretty fair and in reality anyone with genuine title ambitions should not be dropping that many rounds to Charles Martin.
I don't think he'll be fighting Miller or Breazeale next, but below that there's fights with Bryant Jennings and Andy Ruiz. I'd prefer to see Jennings in case I'm eating at the time. Not sure I could keep my food down watching Kownacki and Ruiz waddling round with their man boobs jiggling everywhere. Jennings could outbox Kownacki in the early rounds, would be interesting to see if he has the engine to maintain in for the full fight.
As for Martin, although he's very limited I was impressed by his heart. Wasn't sure how much he wanted it after the AJ fight but he dug in against Kownacki. Even in the early rounds which he lost he landed some good body shots which helped to slow Kownacki down in the 2nd half of the fight. He needs to be in with an aggressive opponent for the fight to be entertaining though, in his fight with Glazkov fvck all happened for 3 rounds. Throw him in with someone a level below Kownacki to see if he can get a win, if he does then put him in another one of these top 10-20 fights.
