then, boxing is a really weird sport. so it seems like most who watch it (even most of the hardcore fights and experts) sometimes do not even understand what they see.

Hats off to fury for coming over and showing great heart..could've been a little busier.... definitely not a robbery.
Exactly what I had.
You had it that way because it was the correct score
Well, of course. :OhYes: But seriously I put a little c on rounds I thought were close and those totaled 7.

the draw was feasible but yet another case of 'best case scenario' judging for wilder. he is getting the benefit of the doubt over and over on the cards. usually thats irrelevant to the outcome because of his stoppages, but it wasnt this time

could have easily been down on the cards vs ortiz, washington, and even szpilka yet not one judge had him down. and now here he gets the most favourable result that you could really give him wth the one card downright atrocious .

Even those of us who have watched for decades, if we're being honest, it's not always clear if a punch lands accounting for viewing angles and punches that miss by centimeters.

It's also easy to get carried away by antics, a fighter sticking out his chin for example. Both fighters did their share of missing. Fury was "winning" regarding antics. He'd feint, and Wilder would react. But a punch wasn't always landed.

Ive been watching fights since the 70's and find it much easier to score in the modern era of big telly and HD, and quality sound.
You can see the sweat spray of a punch landing, you can hear the difference of a punch landing on skin or gloves, plus multi angle replays highlight what actually happened in a KO or KD.

116-110 Fury

... and if you don't count the first KD caused by an illegal punch, then it is 118-109 Fury.

Spot on. I think Wilder over trained. I’ve not seen him gas like that before.
We haven't seen him swing that hard for that long while consistently missing.

It would have benefited him to have been more patient. A rematch should be interesting. I think he can stop Fury with the right mindset. He was trying way too hard for the ko.. I gave Wilder 3 rounds last night. Granted, 2 were BIG rounds. Fury proved to be the better boxer. But Wilder proved he was the much more dangerous puncher. If he's patient next time, and picks his shots, I'm pretty confident Wilder can get the stoppage.

I found this fight pretty easy to score. Fury was very good at making Wilder wiss and was landing his own jab consistently. IMO, the compubox scores were way off. Live, it looked like Fury was out landing Wilder at least 2 to1.

Fury will not 'win easily' in a rematch he only just survived this fight after getting up from what was nearly a KO win don't get carried away people. All this showed is how likely it is that AJ will beat Wilder

Seemed fair to me. Terrible fight.
I liked the fight. I was entertained.
I enjoyed the fight. I don't get the robbery stuff.

I had Fury winning 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and all those rounds were fairly close, Not crazy to call any of those for Wilder.
The tenth was fury's best round by far. That was his only dominant round all night.

10th and 11th were only rounds all 3 judges and I had for Fury. I thought the 11th was closer.

7 rounds to 5 for Fury but getting dropped twice cost him the decision
Judges got this one right.
Kudos to the ref for a very good job overall and especially for giving Fury a count and a chance get up in the 12th.
Most refs would have stopped the fight with no count on that knockdown.

The fight itself was pretty good............not great.......................but a good fight and I hope we get a rematch next year.
I know Fury coming back from his personal difficulties is getting beat to death but I'm going to say it again anyway : well done Tyson, keep up the good work.

watching it live i thought 115 111 for Wilder was a fair result. 7 rounds to 5 with 2 knock downs.

Very disappointing fight. Too much clowning by Fury and too much posing by Wilder. Fury deserved a narrow decision win but not by much. Wilder needs to fire that corner man that told him between rounds he was winning the fight. Imo Wilder needed a KO to win in the 12th and he lacked the desperation to take Fury out when he had him in trouble. Deontay needs to fire that incompetent clown (the guy who was telling him from behind) "you're winning the fight."

I'm not a Joshua fan but I think Joshua beats either of these guys rather without too much trouble, based on what we saw last night.

It is hard to be patient when being constantly hit in the face by a 250-lb man.

This is true. Maybe Wilder can work on avoiding so many shots next time out.

I just think he was focusing too much on offense which was enabling Fury to land so frequently.

it's exactly what i think, i had no problem with scoring this fight, no dillema after end of the round at all, i also expected punchstats to be in 2:1 proportions. but it's not the first time when compubox publish totally incorrect punchstats, AJ vs Povetkin punchstats were a joke, Jacobs vs Sulecki punchstats seemed a bit wrong to me as well.

I can accept anything from a draw to a few points for Fury.
I've never been a Fury fan at all, and have always thought that he lacks power to truly be #1 in the world, but people watching that and thinking Wilder won clearly just baffle me.

Wilder won't be able to go and work on improving his defence after 40 fights, he was getting caught with straight one-twos from Fury and was rocked a couple of times himself. It was the fact that Fury doesn't punch anything like his weight that meant Wilder could find a big shot... generally though his wild swings are amateurish and poor. If you stand in front of a guy for half an hour swinging away you might get lucky.
In this case he got lucky and it just about scraped him a draw imo.

I scored it the same as the commentators on the night giving Wilder r2 10-9 and two knock down rd's at 10-8, so 115 to 111 to Fury.

Watched again this morning without volume and scored the same.

Thing is though, it only takes a swing of 2 rounds to get it even, so on the night I called it a robbery but in actual fact it wasn't.

Although the score for Wilder was absolute b*llocks....... maybe by 1 round at an absolute push.

Clear facts are that the KD's saved Wilder and Fury was by far the better boxer. I'd love to see it again though.

rd 1 Wilder but very close.
rd 2 Fury but very close.
rd 3 Fury close
rd 4 Fury close
rd 5 Fury
rd 6 Fury
rd 7 Wilder but very close
rd 8 Fury
rd 9 Wilder 10-8
rd 10 Fury
rd 11 Fury
rd 12 Wilder 10-8

There were in my opinon 7 rounds that you can't dispute, 5 rounds you could so if you gave all to DW it's 115-111.

I had it 114-112 to Fury , you could make a case Fury won rds 1 & 7 (the UK commentary said he won them, though gave rd 2 to Wilder) that gives a range of 116-110 to TF. 116 was the maximum points TF could get. Giving Wilder the 2nd round the result is 113-113.

Fair enough. Close fight. Bit of a stinker though so not sure i can be bothered sitting through it again.

I don't make any apologies for giving a round to the man holding the centre of the ring trying to engage when a round is close. I think i had Wilder r 1, 2,4 and 5 (or maybe 7) in addition to the 2 KD rounds.
