Mexicans aren't as enamored with Mexican-American fighters as Andy Ruiz would like us to believe.

I think Ortiz deserves the rematch. He came real close of unvinding Wilder. Also there was the shady extra recovery time trick being used.

Many people seem to think that the fight is going to go down like the Stiverne rematch. I don't think so. Ortiz is dangerous counter puncher. Wilder being too gun ho was what got him in trouble in the first fight. Last thing that Wilder wan'ts to do is go in guns blazing early on.

I am expecting more of the replay of Stiverne 1. Wilder will take it really carefully in the beginning. Stay out of range. Then when Ortiz gets tired he will try to blast him out. Some where in the last couple of rounds.

Wilder also has the judges in pocket. So if it goes all the way he will win on points.

Ortiz has a real chance to win this. He is the better boxer of the two. Wilder just has all the other edges. Speed, power and stamina.

Well see what happens when they get in the ring :box:

I can't claim to know, but I did rather suspect that might be the case. No doubt a repeat win over AJ would be a boost to his earning power but having already beaten Joshua once, would you not expect that process to have begun already?

I guess until the rematch is out of the way, it is hard to judge what effect that win has had on Ruiz's earning potential.

Right; that I do not dispute. He'll get some dopey "you're not really one of us" flak from both directions.

It obviously enhanced his earning potential, nowhere near the canelo range. That's hilarious. He beat a guy Americans don't know . Everyone knows Opie.

Well naturally. "Opie" is the Face of Boxing.

If Ruiz is still recalled in America 6 weeks after his upset win, it's probably as that "fat guy who beat up some bodybuilder."

But the new champion's name probably remains a mystery to most here.

Strange, as it's Joshua that you see wall to floor in sports stores in Japan.

Never seen that for Canelo...

x2. My casual fan friends (I hate that term) only know Ortiz and Wilder in the HW division. And that was only due to their first fight.

It seems a little odd for people to keep underestimating his talents, the significance of his upset and the amount of publicity he received for beating AJ.

He’s recently received tens of millions of views on Youtube.

Surely I didn’t imagine that, did I?

You didn't imagine the YouTube views. Like me though, many fans watch multiple times. The fact remains that boxing in the US isn't very popular. None of that has anything to do with his skills. Hardcore fans know he is very talented and the win over AJ was no fluke.

When you’re as old as old man Ortiz, you decline even more rapidly. A year on from their last fight, he’ll be worse.

Wilder to end it easier and quicker than last time.

Absolutely. Wilder wanted this just to erase any criticism from the first fight.

Wilder wanted this fight to avoid Dillian Whyte.

Luis Ortiz avoided facing Dillian Whyte, since he knew he was already guaranteed to face ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Are you accusing me of being wrong?

If Wilder wasn’t bothered about facing Whyte, then why reject multiple career-high paydays to face the WBC’s highest-rated contender for two years?

You tell me why. You seem to know what goes through the mind of Deontay Wilder. You are accusing him of ducking a fighter he would have little trouble dispatching.

LMFAO! You can't even prove your own statements. How is anyone supposed to take you seriously? You are the Charlie Z of posters. You make shvt up and then claim some sort of victory! Epic gold! Prove to this thread that Wilder ducked Whyte and why. Go ahead and tell us all that Eddie Hearn confirmed it. You're a joke!

You keep posting the same “hilarious” claims, whilst ignoring everything I write.

I can’t keep participating in you trolling, since you’re not a boxing fan, never have been and have never once attempted to prove the accuracy of your own words.
