He's right except for Manny making his career off of his name. That's obviously foolish.

Who the F likes JMM enough to post something stupid like this? Yes, JMM meets the criteria for pussiness. Manny gives this dope a million tries to finally beat him, like a true sportsman. The steroid junky lands one lucky punch FINALLY and won’t even consider giving Manny the rematch he had been asking for. That’s a pussy in any neighborhood Boy so if you don’t get that then you’re probably one of those trust fund kids who doesn’t know what men are supposed to act like.
A completely cowardly pussy like you has no right to say this about a courageous warrior like Marquez. Here's one thing I get for sure: that you're a total f*cking coward.

I'm up for watching it go down on Sunday. Nothing else to do.

But it has to be in the L. A./Las Vegas vicinity. Might not be worth traveling a distance.

Caldohooohoooooooh, you really should go back to bed with Ei-Ei-0.

Back to the actual thread subject.

What is amazing about what Manny did on Saturday night is that he managed to do exactly enough to get the W. Anything less and he would likely have lost.

He was clearly losing round 1 prior to landing that perfect right hand and scoring the KD. If all that changed about the fight was that Manny failed to execute that KD, the judges’ scores would have been:

116-112 Thurman
114-114 x2

A majority draw.

But that KD had a far more dramatic impact on the fight than just one swing round. Once Upon A Time was fighting confidently, initiating the exchanges in most cases, prior to the KD. Post KD, Thurman was largely hesitant and defensive for the next four rounds while Manny banked the cushion that was necessary to squeak out the win.

Furthermore, Manny was losing round 10 if not for that perfect body shot. Two punches were the real keys to the fight.

My point in this rather long winded description is that I believe that this will be remembered as the crown jewel of The Senator’s boxing legacy. Once Upon A Time will defeat Manny if they rematch. Crawford will nearly skunk him prior to an RTD in the later rounds. Spence will bust him up, whether or not he allows him to reach the final bell.

I support whatever the ATG decides to do.

Manny owes Once Upon A Time nothing. Thurman is now more marketable than he has ever been. A rematch would be a fantastic gift to Keith from Manny; along the lines of what ODLH did for both FMJ and Pac.

If Manny chooses to fight on, my preference would be that he fight Mikey. It would be evenly matched, It would harken back to the JMM, Morales, and Barrera days, and it would sell well.

Yeah. I knew as soon as I heard Thurman had been knocked down, that whatever the case he was going to fight too cautiously to win from that point onward. I knew it was Manny's night after the knockdown.

I was cheering for Manny...after that knockdown I was still worried Thurman could turn the tide which in fact he managed to in the second half or so i thought.. till the last gong I hadn’t been sure who the winner was ... was very close IMO and I was relieved having learned the result...is a great win considering the odds ...

Fantastic career in spite of minor hiccups..should he retire? I‘ll be happy with whatever decision he takes..

Just to be clear, this isn't about Marquez or Pacquiao. It's about cowards referring to professional boxers as pussies or cowards. When I first joined boxrec, if a coward like caldo referred to a boxer as a "coward," the whole forum would pounce on them. But that was back when the boxrec members were men and they understood that any boxer (barring some bottomfeeders) who climbs through the ropes and takes a risk has already cleared himself from any possibility of being a coward.

But most old school men have vacated this forum and it is mainly trolls now.

Well I will say that it's not completely impossible for a Pro Boxer to be a p*ssy, because there are some guys in this sport who are just paid losers let's admit.

But none of the fighters are the World Level are "p*ssies" by any stretch of the imagine. Marquez got up, and continued to fight for 12 rounds after being dropped 3 times, and having his nose broken in the 1st round. It takes Balls of Steel to do that.

I'd still say it takes courage to get in the ring time after time with yet another opponent who is better than you in every department, except maybe knowing how to survive the ordeal without getting battered.

I'm not going to have a go at Caldo, but I'm firmly in the camp that a boxer by definition is no pussy.

Did that somehow sound funny in your head before typing it on Nana’s computer, Billy Crystal? What a lame fight this is. Go practice with some novices and come back when you get your shit together man. This is like any PBC undercard fight, a complete mismatch and you’re out of your league. Ah, who cares about your opinion? Yeah, I’ve got real issues with JMM’s last fight. Employing known roid peddlers to give him artificial one punch power to finally beat a guy that he has not been GREAT enough to beat. Then he uses that to retire on is a pussy to me. I’m sorry if you see that as commendable. Not only did Manny deserve a shot to redeem himself like he’s given to this prick a million times but fans got screwed out of a winner takes all bout that would have been fantastic and an admirable way to retire. Not like a pussy. Like you and your buttplug Lacktose

That wasn’t his last fight caldom. Manny did not fight JMM out of the kindness of his heart; the boxing public clamored for more. None of the fights were conclusive and Pac wanted finality as much as the boxing public did.

We all got the finality we were looking for in the fourth fight. It looked like it was going Pac’s way until The Planquiao; the perfect punch that JMM had been specifically training for, due to his knowledge of Manny’s penchant for jumping in when he thinks he has his opponent in trouble.

There was no need for a fifth fight. The final outcome was the perfect end to the series. If Pac had stopped JMM I would feel the same way.

You accuse JMM of juicing although he has never tested hot. Why do you leave out Pac’s alleged PED use over a number of years? How do you know that he wasn’t juiced for the JMM fights, or for that matter Saturday night’s fight? Strenuous testing was absent.

You are the epitome of the keyboard pudendum caldom. Even bringing JMM into this conversation at the age of very nearly 46, over five years removed from his last fight (Alvarado) is so utterly punkass that it is hysterical.

This was a thread to celebrate Manny and you have managed to make it about how little you know about boxing., and how butthurt you still are about The Planquiao.

Bravo caldom.

Lol, no it wouldn't. I'd be shocked if 500k bought this fight, they couldn't draw near the same buy rate and the fight wouldn't be any better. Manny is still a force, I expected him to win, but he's going to end up taking a terrible beating against Spence.

Anyway......I’m not really bothered if Manny retires or not, either way it doesn’t do his legacy any harm, he’s accomplished bucketloads and most of us have been along for the full ride which makes us pretty lucky, I love reading about boxing history from before my time ( or before I was aware of boxing) but I’m also pretty thankful for the stuff I’ve lived through in my time as a fan, the Tyson years, catching the tail end of the 4 kings, the Benn, Watson, Eubank merry go round, Jones, Toney and BHop, Brit heavies, Mexican warriors, quality welters too many to name and that little Filipino kid that went through the weights and had us all gasping in excitement, Pac will probably continue but win lose or draw he can’t possibly tarnish what he’s achieved and great nights he’s given to us.🥊
