Just postponed the same fairly obvious end of career battering Tomasz Adamek had against Jarrell Miller.

Feel sorry for big Joe. All that hard work in training for nothing ! Needs to be out again soon.
Yeh, he fought in May, then July. Then nothing.

I was actually looking forward to this one.

The fighting away from home dynamic added something for me. You can bet your backside Joyce and his team would have get got stuck in shi t house 2 star hotels and got mucked about with all sorts.

As boring a personality that Joyce is I am going to enjoy watching his career unfold I think.

A fight's a fight and JJ needs more of them. He hasn't fought since July 2019. Dubois has fought twice since. JJ is getting old quick. He's probably got the best resume from te 2016 HW Olympians.

Purse Bids

Joe "Juggernaut" Joyce's defense of the EBU heavyweight title against former cruiserweight champ Marco Huck goes to purse bids with June 14 as the deadline.

If Joyce (12-0) is interested in going through with the defense is another story though.

As for Huck.(42-5-1) he' had one fight a year for the last three years - partly of course due to the pandemic

It's far from the best match to be made for the European title, but better than Joyce doing nothing. Joe benefits from regular bouts so could do with a run out with one eye firmly on the future.

Agreed. Wonder if Joyce/Sam Jones will look to move to Matchroom and a deal with Sky. I can see it now - Joyce vs Chisora on Ppv with a stacked undercard.

If Joyce isn't facing Usyk for the Interim WBO or Parker/Ruiz for the next WBO eliminator then atleast this keeps him busy. There's obviously better opponents out there but I doubt they'll have anything planned as all their eggs were in the Usyk fight. Would prefer to alternatively see him against Pulev, Ortiz, Hunter, Chisora etc.

The next ranked EBU guys are: Whyte, Usyk, Povetkin, Helenius, Yoka, Kabayel, Pulev, Chisora, Hrgovic, Camkiran. So you'd think if Joyce was to pass up on this, we may see Huck against Yoka/Kabayel/Camkiran.

Joyce only has himself to blame.

If he lost to Dubois he probably would have got a title shot by now. :OhYes:

I remember AJ calling him "Steam Train Joe" in the Olympics, and now I think about it that's perfect: slow, head made of cast iron, old, and completely impossible to stop once he gets going

I was firmly in the camp that thought he'd beat him. Usyk's supposed offer of 7% sealed it for me that JJ was definitely not on Usyk's list of fighters he was confident he could beat. In fact, I don't think he's confident he's beat any of the top fighters, bar Parker and maybe Ruiz, but he was just at the weight for the biggest payday. Fighting Chisora and the the other bloke in unimpressive performances were hardly bragging rights, were they? And I say this as somebody who, not so long ago, thought Usyk would fight anybody anywhere and take over the world.

Ortiz would be my perfect fight for Joe: get rid of the dead wood and plant himself firmly within the elite. I guess if it has to happen he can get Huck out of the way quick and then be firmly in place for somebody roughly the same size and decent.

I suppose Huck arguably beat Povetkin way back? That might set up a Whyte-Joyce fight where Whyte would suffer a career ending beatdown. But it's unlikely. We have a world class British heavyweight that beat the 'New AJ' with a jab, with a supposedly world class promoter, and they're just going to waste his time until his clock runs out and he's too old,.

Boxing is my favourite sport but it's a load of corrupt boring old shite at the moment and I can fully understand the old heads getting out and calling it a day.

Nobody wants to see Joyce vs Huck.

Purse bids have been postponed.

As Joyce will have a voluntary defence.

Seems like it might be Joyce vs Takam or Joyce vs Yoka at the moment.

Let's face it, who wouldn't love to see Joyce get revenge on Yoka?
