It didn't help Wilder's star power that he was a World Champion making his 6th or so title defense before he fought anybody that was seen as a real threat.
If Wilder KOs Fury and AJ in his next two fights he still won't get mainstream endorsements.

Fighters can still get Mainstream endorsements here and there still.
Pac had a Hennessy ad not long ago. Canelo has had some ads here and there.

Also, I think plenty of black american boxing fans only watch black fighters, and only concentrate on following the divisions they are doing well in -147 and 154 that's it. Notice how most of what they talk about is the Welterweight division, their whole interest in boxing revolves around it
LDBC are very ignorant and unknowledgeable about the Euro dominated divisions from middleweight to heavyweight, and the lower weights. I think Haney is around a lot of ignorant, dumb, racist LDBC types, and his mask slipped.

Have you ever been to America? Do you know any black people? Just curious. Also curious that you criticize racism but you take part in it yourself.
As another poster so eloquently stated, "I don't watch him for his speeches or brain." Sure, I don't think Haney should have said it, but whether Haney says it about white fighters or a white fighter said it about black fighters has no bearing on me watching them.

Getting a so called "Boxing fan" of any color to name you more than 5 active fighters is a reach. I'm impressed whenever ANYBODY I meet in person actually knows about Boxing. Most people just kinda pretend to know about it, and can only name you 2 or 3 names at best.

They've always been very ignorant and bizzare with this. I recall during Wladimir Klitschkos decade of terror reign, in his prime when he looked unbeatable. They would refer to David Price as the 'Great White Hope' . I found that very bizzare considering whites were completely dominating the division so there was no need for a white hope. They are race obsessed and just are deliberately ignorant

Would seem that being a native to an English speaking country helps with popularity though (at least in those countries) GGG may have gained more popularity in the U.S. than the Klitschko's did because he had more of an action style.
