Rosado can actually box. That is the takeaway from last night.

Y’all grumbling about the fight need to chill out. That was a complete surprise to what we expected. We saw high level boxing on display. Sorry it wasn’t a bloodbath like you expected. Sorry Rosado wanted to try to win the fight instead of take another beating. Sorry that you can’t stop to appreciate the moment for Freddie Roach. Boxing fans are so hard to please. If you can’t respect a boxing match then why watch the sport?

Was it captivating? No. Does it always have to be? No. Boxing can be a bit boring, but that doesn’t make it something to complain about. That’s the sport we love. Last night was something really special from Rosado. Just be happy we have fights at all during this pandemic. It is Thanksgiving after all.

What a supurb display of boxing with walking and shaking the air a bit.

There most definitely can be a bad fight, but I didn’t see one last night. I saw some pretty skillful stuff from a fighter most all of us had written off as a punching bag. And it was done at the guidance of a beloved and chronically ill trainer. That was special. It was also a fairly close fight to score which I found really interesting. Just my opinion. Which is an unpopular one.

If the fight was a stinker would you blame Jacobs more or Rosado? Gabe had all the incentive to make it a fight, but he most surely would have lost if he didn’t fight the way he did last night. I kept saying out loud that Jacobs needed to push the action more in the middle rounds.

Nobody of them really showed any will to go for it.

Fair enough, friend. Joyce - Dubois should bring enough action for the weekend.

So I skipped to the tenth round, but the fight continued to bore me.

And so I forwarded the video to the final round and was disappointed to see neither fighter pick the pace up for a grand stand finish to steal the victory.

Instead, it was another tedious round.

Rosado’s stock has risen, because he defied expectations and overachieved, with Jacobs’ stock falling, because he was subpar and boring to watch.

I can’t imagine anyone clamouring for Jacobs to face any big names, other than those that continue to sympathise with him overcoming his cancer plight.

They certainly won’t be supporting him for entertainment or sporting reasons.

One of the worst fights I’ve seen in recent memory.
Agree on all counts

Rosado kept his composure and balance, credit to him but other than that what did he do. Landing one punch at a time, very rarely. Throwing an air jab and going backwards. I don’t think it was a particularly good boxing display, it was a negative display. And his opponent JAcobs was unwilling to get out of first gear. All in all it was terrible for a main event.

Air Jab is the greatest of all boxrec vocabulary.

I agree, I’ve only picked it up lately. Thatcher uses it quite a bit.
