An unexpectedly decent fight. Hughie's best performance so far.

Yes, he finally fought with confidence against decent opposition and started to show his range of skills more. It will be interesting to see how much he develops from this.

Why? The point is he did it in a watchable fashion.
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Mariusz Wach - 12 December 2020
Yeah, it was a decent performance to observe, Hughie has never had such before against anyone more or less notable.
I'll check out the highlights. Heard the two of them were in poor shape.
Both seemed to be in a quite regular shapes.
Fattest I've ever seen Hughie at a weigh in. However, it was the most aggressive I've ever seen Hughie in a fight so maybe a beer gut and love handles does make you a better fighter

Fury looked a bit better but he had an ancient, immobile and technically dire punchbag in front of him.

I'm a nobody but have been in work where my physicality was a significant part of the job (military stuff). As a natural (no steroids or similar) my testing and performance in strength, power, aggression and general fitness was always best (by far) when I had a bit of timber on versus having my abs on show.

Ha. When your abs are out properly, unless you are on the gear, your testosterone levels will be close to castrate levels (seriously).

I'll just leave this here. What about... Wilder vs Hughie?
Remember many years ago Wilder offered Hughie, Not Tyson and Tyson was active, a fight and team Fury turned it down saying it was a low ball? I know that there is a family rift and the Peter and Hughie don't have any part of Tyson and John etc, but still in Dentay's feeble mind this would a winnable fight for him over a Fury: the beginning of the healing process for his deep, deep humiliation. Hughie also might stand much more of a chance now: he's more aggressive but he's defensive enough to have a degree of confidence. Haymon would have to dig deep into his pockets to get the Fury's on board but it's got to be a sellable fight?

Would Hughie travel to such a big fight without his father?

Hmm. I'd forgotten about Peter's visa issues. That could be a big hurdle.

It would be an interesting fight so it's a shame. Can't see Wilder travelling over here again. He's so paranoid I'd be surprised if he's left his house in the past few months for fear of chemtrails in the sky or being followed by drones. I bet he's got one of those encrypted phones so that nobody can read his texts. Wasn't there some interview before he caught his hiding where he had a gold plated gun and a bazooka?
His house is probably booby trapped like Home Alone.

I can believe that. Although when I was in the Army most of the fittest lads were skinny young 'uns, most of the' older' guys (late twenties/early thirties) had a bit of natural blubber around the midfift but still performed well enough during PT sessions and past their BFTs every year.
Nowadays I'm in decent(ish) shape, but far from an adonis.
Yet I tend to out-lift many an impressive looking bloke in the gym.
Seems to me many of them are on gear that makes them thick and ripped, but doesn't add much in terms of explosiveness.
