Hughie Fury vs. Mariusz Wach - 12 December 2020

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Hughie Fury is set to return on the undercard of Dillian Whyte’s rematch with Alexander Povetkin in November, his trainer and father Peter Fury told BBTV.

The 26-year-old will be looking to continue the momentum he gained with his impressive stoppage win over Pavel Sour in March, as he looks to continue his quest for world honours.

In terms of who will likely be in the opposite corner to Fury, his trainer revealed Eddie Hearn and Matchroom ‘have come back with a few we are looking at, but nothing is fixed down opponent wise yet’.

He went onto emphasise his desire for Hughie to be in ‘meaningful fights’, however stating that it is difficult at the moment with the COVID crisis.

“We have got to just run with the times – we will look for somebody decent, the main thing for Hughie is to keep him busy, keep him active, keep him fighting and keep him winning.”

It was previously touted that Fury would clash with Dave Allen, however, the likelihood of that bout happening has faded as the lockdown and restrictions on travelling athletes have loosened.

TBA gets another run out.. Wonder how long it will be before before he's replaced by another opponent.

So who should Hughie fight? Any names in particular?

Who should he be fighting? Who will he fight? Who would you like to see him fight?

So many questions.

If it's not TBA it will be TBC.

He'll probably be up against a 'tough' Eastern European who'll cover up for ten rounds but it'll be a 'good workout' for him.
I'd like to see him tested again, there's no use him messing about with the likes of an ancient Sam Peter and complete no hopers like Chris Norrad. If he has any ambition he needs to prove he's got what it takes at the top level and beat a semi decent name.

As long as its not Dave allen. Allen wanting to fight hughie confused the fornicate out of me, id give Allen a better chance vs AJ than hughie, thats how bad the style matchup is for allen.

Id like hughie vs martin bakoli but thats dreaming isnt it. Hughie vs Hammer would actualy be a decent fight..

While fighting is better than not fighting, fighting lower level guys will send you backwards.

Fury should be fighting for some kind of title, British, commonwealth, European etc and the if a world opportunity arrives they can take it.

Taxi drivers aren't worth anything.

Oh, that's gonna be a bloody war, a Thrilla in O2 Arena, a Rumble in London, an action-packed slugfest.

Wach vs H Fury is a horrible horrrible fight. Wach is better than he looks though and is massive. I'm sure this is the first time Hughie is fighting someone taller than him.

Eddie needs to be stopped quickly before he kills anymore careers. The man is more dangerous than Fred West. Piling these prospects and contenders under the patio.

Okolie and Hughie should never be on PPV undercards. It’s just not worth it.
