Have to say that might of been the best backflip cellebration in all of sport. Lofty, clean, over the team. excellent.

He's a phenom @ SFW but ordinary elite @ 140.
LW is surely right.

It's surely time for a legit megafight next time out for Davis. He's a legit star in Boxing, and gets a lot of hype and attention every time he fights. He's as prime as he's gonna get. Time to see how he does against the Best of the Best.

Floyd is a genius in building up the hype and the profile of a fighter. Davis beat an old-washed up Gamboa, a smaller LSC and a skinny 140 lbs paper champ. And now people are saying Davis is so wow. I thought that Barrios would give to Davis a tough fight but it's obvious that Barrios was chosen for a reason.
Anyway they know very well how to do smart business and build up the hype. Good for them.
I'm curious to see who is gonna be Davis's next opponent?! It is gonna be Lopez, Loma, Haney, Valdez, Prograis, maybe Taylor or another cherry-weak link type of opponent?

Davis toyed with the legendary Barrios for this joke version of the title. Could KO him much earlier. It'll be fun to see Taylor vs Davis, but Taylor will face a mandatory next, while Davis will face some bum.

they are cherrying
part of the problem too is that we talk about fights vs teo, loma, garcia, haney ...maybe taylor, etc. but none of them are with pbc like barrios and leo are
if they want to keep it in house, what's the best they can do? maybe gary russel at 130 if tank can drop again?

It's obvious. He is their golden goose and their investment.KiwiRider wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 05:31Cherry weak be my guess.apollo creed wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 03:42 Floyd is a genius in building up the hype and the profile of a fighter. Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Mario Barrios - June 26, 2021
im not sure they lack confidence in him.........what i think it is, is that they are deadset on him being another floyd type megastar, and they want the big fights vs teo, garcia etc to happen when he's a biiger draw and there is more money in it
another problem like i said, is that pbc has none of the other top lightweights, it doesnt have the undsiputed at 140, etc......and they obiously like matching tank in house. if he can make 130 again i bet he fights gary russell.

True but we just want to see the best fights. dazn, pbc and tr should work each other.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 06:00 they are cherrying

True. Gary Russell could be a realistic opponent for Davis.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 06:04 im not sure they lack confidence in him.........what i think it is, is that they are deadset on him being another floyd type megastar, and they want the big fights vs teo, garcia etc to happen when he's a biiger draw and there is more money in it

I doubt Mayweather's ego will allow Davis to become as big as him or make the kind of money he did, Leonard Ellerbe is everything thats wrong with boxing, im certain he sleeps in a Floyd Mayweather duvet

I think Barrios is a better win than Nakatani.

If I remember right, Arum said he'd like Loma to fight Tank or Haney next. (@135) Both would be great fights.
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Mario Barrios - June 26, 2021
Very good analogy.gilgamesh wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 21:27All criticism of Tank is justified. He's Broner all over again, or at least only slightly better. He'll only win titles at 140 and 147 if they're careful as all hell who they match him with. He may not get by Barrios, and he won't dare fight Taylor.
The hype around him vs who he fights is absurd.
GOAT level IF he can safely make 130
HOF level @ 135.
WT Winner @ 140
Competent WT challenger @ 147.
