So… ENTERING 2017
We have Whyte on track to challenge for the WBC title having won an eliminator. Wilder (PBC) hasn’t faced a mandatory in his first two years as Champion. Povetkin has failed a drug test. Stiverne has failed a drug test. Molina has failed a UKAD drug test, but the information is yet to be published.
FEBRUARY 2017: WBC install Stiverne as Wilder’s mandatory challenger, ignoring his failed drug test, and not requiring him to fight a WBC final eliminator. Note Whyte won a WBC title eliminator in 2016.

NOTE: Breazeale (WBC#11 following his win against Ugonoh) was drafted in as a guy for Stiverne to beat in a tune-up fight after Stiverne was forced to step aside for Luis Ortiz by the WBC. Remember Whyte (WBC#4) had already won his title eliminator 8 months earlier. The WBC will now start nudging up Breazeale’s ranking month by month.
