I don't think it was a dive but Jersey Joe fucked up everything that came after it. As you say, Ali was clearly going to win but IMO Liston got up before the referee counted to 10 and a better or more experienced ref probably wouldn't have A. Lost control of Ali in the first place and B stopped the fight because Nat Fleicher (sp?) told him to.

There must be a way of factoring in the amount of defences as well?
I mean you can count 'em all as we list 'em.

These threads tend to be about the quality of the challengers rather than the sheer numbers of defenses.

I've never had any doubt whatsoever it was a dive. Nobody on Earth could ever convince me otherwise. It's as obvious as the Sun in the Sky.
