Hope Fraze is alright today.
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
spot on. Take aGotta feeling like this one might play out completely different from the first one. Like one of them’s gonna catch the other one cold fairly early on and end it. I might have a bet on Wardley early TKO.
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
Can't see Clarke coming back from a beating like that , if he does he's asking for trouble at his age and taking a beating like that
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
I think Clarke is still competitive against other British level guys. Wardley has just surpassed that level now though. Clarke needs to look at someone no better than Hughie, whereas Wardley should be looking forward at the euro and Commonwealth belts
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
Me neither. He will be chucked in as a stepping stone, given his age and that loss. That is what usually happens.
I am sure he has other irons in the fire, so maybe should consider other things, but far be it from me to tell anyone what to do.
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
Hasn't Clarke done some punditry in the past? I think that could be the future for him. He's likeable and last night was a horrifying KO. I would hate to see him take any more damage.

Clarke came out looking to box..
Wardley came out looking like Wilder and just swing.
One of them was bound to land.

There are always paydays for the big guys. Just one win away from a big fight in the heavyweight division. This one is hard to come back from though. Brutal. He’s 33 but had a very long amateur career. Plus loads of WBSS fights.
He also got a sparring hiding from Jalolov. Not sure he’s well known enough to do much TV work. I’m sure those guest appearances don’t pay much.
Him, Joe Joyce, Chisora etc should all retire prob for health reasons.

Great KO and more evidence a super HW division is NOT needed.
EO would have declared Clarke the winner before the fight due to Clarke's weight advantage.

Frazer Clarke suffers zygomatic fracture to jaw but won't be in hospital for long
Frazer Clarke will have surgery following his stunning and sobering one-loss to Fabio Wardley that left him with a fractured jaw in Saudi Arabia.
Clarke found himself trapped on the ropes with his back to Wardley when the British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion unleashed a hellacious right hook to leave Clarke visibly injured to the head and in a state of apparent shock.
The referee, Victor Loughlin, initially issued a standing count before realising the extent of Clarke’s condition when he stopped the fight immediately. The fracture, situated high up on the left side of his jaw, was apparent from a dent in his face and bone misplacement.
Clarke, 33, was taken straight to hospital from where his injury was diagnosed as a zygomatic fracture and an operation will be carried out on his jaw and cheekbone to restore normal facial contour and symmetry.
He is expected to be released from hospital on the day of surgery, though he may be kept in overnight for observation. It is hoped he will not need any metal plates fitted with the estimated healing time between six and eight weeks.
According to the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a zygomatic fracture “can be considered non-vulnerable to reopening or contamination” three weeks after it has healed.
Clarke’s defeat came seven months after he and Wardley shared a rousing 12-rounder at the O2 Arena in London.
“I always take a prayer before my fight, always ask for me and my opponent to leave and be healthy,” Wardley said after winning the return. “I want, whoever I’m with, to go back to their family and I hope he’s well, I hope I can speak to him because those first 12 rounds we shared were special.”

Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
Your jaw is never right after it is bust.
Normally the last two fight are enough for the promoter to break the contract.
Wonder if Shalom will keep him on

Pretty gobsmacked by the way it all ended
Fabio actually ramped-up his willingness to slam even more chips down on the table and go for Frazer much harder and earlier.....despite the fact he'd been clawed back and drawn into a very painful-exhausting fight last time.
I watched and enjoyed the Johnny Nelson 'head-to-head' interview and when Fabio said he wasn't going to change a single thing and it was only a matter of being more precise/less rushed and that he could hurt Frazer pretty much whenever he wanted, I was frankly a tad dubious and thought there was a steaming heap of kidology going on.
Seems as if though Fabio was right, he could do this and it was a matter of better-sharper execution.
Trying this out against Dubois, the ailing Joshua or ageing Fury will be an entirely different matter of course.
Interesting stuff from Wardley after as well

Wardley was classy in victory too. I hope Frazer's surgery has gone well, it looked a horrific injury.
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke II | PPV - 12 October 2024
And Bridger isn't needed either.
Wouldn't mind Cruiser being upped to 205 say, and maybe LHW getting bigger too, but even if you completeley reorganised weight divs, we don't need any more.

Comes across as a very nice guy and classy as well, a refreshing change from the repetitive trash talking/stunted soundbites of late with the HW's.Bodyshot3 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2024, 15:07 Pretty gobsmacked by the way it all ended![]()

So's Clarke though, a shame one of them got bumped off in such a manner.

Fraser Clarkes injury
being a guy that spent 37 years as an anaesthetic practitioner in operating theatres all over the world....i could see that Clarke had a depressed fractured zygoma, this bone can be elevated back into position with a relatively short GA without metalwork being needed to hold it in position. His physical recovery will be relatively quick (6 weeks) but his mental recovery will be the issue. I think Big Fraze should hang them up, if he cant lead the pack at British level then he hasnt got enough time left to do anything in the sport now.
Big Fraze comes across well on tv, he is knowledgeable and insightful and good on the mic. Thats the direction his career should head in now. he has an olympic medal in the locker which is not too shabby and will have earned decent coin for last nights fight.
As for Fabio, its very interesting. My opinion is that he is now knocking on the door of fringe world level but he is unproven above top domestic level. He now needs to fight a fellow gatekeeper 'name' that knows how to lose. My advice would be to feed either Chisora, Joyce, Whyte, Ortiz or Takam to him. Wardley should put any of them away if he is going to the next level. Then he will be ready for the big boys.

Feels like Mabey Clarke should retire… but what if he loves it and has no other hobbies….
Is Clarke still amature elegeble? Wouldent be a horrible move to go have a crack at the Olympics again…
If he stays in pros you could give him a couple of easy touches and he could be back fighting for the British by the time fabio vacates… (if the fight is right, Adeley or dacres ect, not Moses)…

To carry on he will need a promoter behind him, and I dunno who is gonna invest enough money into a guy to get to British title level.gregregegg wrote: ↑13 Oct 2024, 18:11 Feels like Mabey Clarke should retire… but what if he loves it and has no other hobbies….

He is too good to get Dave Allen type work.
Money wise he could earn well as a sparring partner, stay in shape and hope to get a late call as an opponent in a big fight.
Dangerous work though.
Nevertheless he has a lot to be proud of, olympic medalist, and was in one of the best British title fights ever.
Can still earn a few quid as a pundit and doing reality stuff
