I have a feeling Wardley is going to be the crowd favourite tonight,
That actually might make an interesting topic of discussion. Heavyweight Champions who were a little jiggly in the middle and Heavyweight Champions who had 6 pack abs. Which was their more of?gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:18Without a weight limit and without drugs having a bit of jiggle is optimum for many body types. You just can’t train hard and consistently on a caloric deficit, and so for many the extra energy training is worth carrying around 10lb of padding…overhand_right wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:04 So this is Olaniyan? Why's his belly so soft and jiggly? He's a professional full time athlete and he's 20.
FFS i thought Usyk had brought the curtain down on the era of long gangly goon-like fatties.
Everyone that grew up watching little heavyweights in the 70s/80s or juiced as fornicate heavyweights in the 90s/2000s can’t recognise this and think everyone should have a 6pack…
I'm a fan just because every fight he's been in for the last few years is Violent and Dramatic as hell. The kinda fights that drew me into the sport in the first place.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:21 I have a feeling Wardley is going to be the crowd favourite tonight,

Heavies have always been "without a weight limit" as you said but up until relatively recent times opted to train hard with the resultant athletic physique rather than be fat.gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:18Without a weight limit and without drugs having a bit of jiggle is optimum for many body types. I don’t know the kid at all. Just saying if having Abs was optimum for him my guess is he would have abs. I don’t buy that he is just lazy when there are potentialy millions of dollars on the table.overhand_right wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:28Heavies have always been "without a weight limit" as you said but up until relatively recent times opted to train hard with the resultant athletic physique rather than be fat.gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:18Without a weight limit and without drugs having a bit of jiggle is optimum for many body types. He's just fat. You don't need to knock great fighting men of the past to protect your chubby favourite. He will get upset on the way up because he's not serious.
You don't think today's fighters are on PEDs?gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:37I don’t know the kid at all. Just saying if having Abs was optimum for him my guess is he would have abs. Not many top guys have had those Holyfield abs In The last 10 years… I don’t think that’s a laziness thing… I think it’s a PED testing thing…
I can’t actually remember it clearly but I think it was Jalalov.
I am always suspicious of heavies that look fatty. Tubbs, Witherspoon, Tate, Douglas, Andy Ruiz would’ve surely been better without that lard. Tyson fury seems to be an exception but he looked better when he was in better shape. Holmes also may be an exception. Bowe also was way better when he was trim.gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 16:37I don’t know the kid at all. Just saying if having Abs was optimum for him my guess is he would have abs. As to what heavyweights have looked in shape - Wlad, Vitali, Lennox, Mike Tyson, Holyfield, Rahman, Maskaev, Wilder, Haye - there are plenty of them
