Also, have to look at his performance fundamently. Did he look like he was dying. Quartey was a mean son of a gun, but when was he ever looking that dangerous against top top opposition. Yes, okay he smashed Vince Phillips in 3, Phillips never got into the fight. When class operators like Oba Carr (one of Oscar's finest wins IMO) fought him he didn't look so good. He was never consistent enough so we can ever predict a slide. I mean, even now - he looks dodgy one minute, excellent the next. I think the DLH fight was one of his best performances.

Which leads me on to the "famed" DLH fatigue - as noted by Colonel Sheridan and Ian Darke. He nearly stopped Quartey in the final, he did stop Carr in the eleventh, he won the last 2 rounds on the judges card vs Mayweather (not mine it must be said), for me he won the last 2 rounds vs Sturm (to squeeze out a 1 point victory on my card), 9, 10, 11 were very close in Mosley 1, and 11 and 12 were very close in Mosley 2 (I though Oscar won these - if memory serves me), going back to the John John Molina fight (one of DLH's vintage performances - again not late fatigue), stopped Vargas in the 11th - in a razor tight fight.

Infact the only fight in which judges and experts agree he clearly lost the last few rounds was against Tito... which he was furious cause he boxed to orders. Well you could say his output also deteriorated as the Hopkins and Pac Man fights progressed. Mosley also won the last round clear in fight 1 to nick the decision on my card.

Infact - the number of late KO's aint bad for a guy with no engine.

Just to clear this up, Ike was seriously ill with malaria - he was out of the ring for over a year recovering. His long time girlfriend is my mate's cousin, and they often come over to London in the summer to stay for awhile. So I heard all this first hand ( and I tried to talk him into a quick comeback after the Vargas fight, by the way - didn't get far - He was enjoying his brandy and cigars too much )

They have higher uimmunity and its been proven that generally indiginous populations have a higher recovery rate amongst healthy adults.
