I remember watching Klitschko-Brewster II on a secondsout stream and as the first time I have paid for one I was pleased. It didn't jump or chop and ran smoothly throughout and I was worried as my PC has a history of buffering and fornicating about. Here's hoping Froch-Taylor is the same.
If Hatton can do it on the Matty Hatton-Ted Bami show then hopefully meaty can pull it off too :geek2:

or do you reckon he gets a pass even if not working?
Is that taking money out of the fighters pockets as well then?
Im not a journalist but if he were to attend that fight and then talk about it on setanta or bbc then woulnt that be a journalistic capacity. When hes not working i suspect he gets invited to a lot of shows so he becomes aware of prosepects and things like that.
Was being deliberately fececious to labour the point mate.

I'm told that despite what Steve has said on todays show (or has been told), Setanta never even made an offer for this fight, check with your guardian angel again Steve!
Setanta are skint, big time and were never in the running for fight so the Bunce fact for next week Steve is that someones been telling you porkies if they said they bid for it.

Was it an informed source that told you this?

Yep, they would know for sure if setanta had put in a bid or not.

The only time I've ever tried to use a stream was for Khan v Prescott. Feed froze at the start and then buffered to show Khan slumped in a corner smelling his nipple.
Never again.
I'll watch it the next day.

Lol . I usually can find decent streams, sometimes it can freze its very frustrating. I think the tv companys and promoters take the fans for fools sometimes with the fights they put on ppv Khan v fagan and hatton v lazcano shouldnt of been on ppv . obviously there are people out there that would think hatton v lazcano is a similar fight to pac v hatton

Spud, I have to disagree with this. TV hasn't failed boxing. Setanta and ITV aren't in the business of philanthropy -- they're in the business of business.

Like the general consensus, I can't watch a fight on a choppy stream. I remember watching Ellis Vs Macca on a stream and thought it was Macca on the receiving end of those body-shots. It was that grainy, and I won't pay £10 for the experience again.
No chance.

That was an illegal stream mate. A proper encoded stream is a completely different beast.
I'll be honest and say all the legit ones i've streamed / purchased have been tremendous quality.
Holyfield vs Ibragimov was as good as TV.

If there was some kinda 'money-back' deal whereby if the stream stops and is crap quality and then I would get my money back, then I would buy it in a heartbeat. But all I've heard are bad things about streams on the net. Just don't know what to do - I can't miss it.

Isn't it hard to tell and very different for each PC.
"Oi my stream was crap give me back my money".... hard to prove it was.

And that's why I will probably not be paying for the stream.

What worries me is that nothing is sorted yet on the Frochvtaylor.com. Secondsout having been streaming fights for a while and give varying speeds depending on your connection. They also know what they expect in terms of number of viewers and that they have enough bandwith etc to cover it.
It'll be interesting to see what sort of thing they offer. It's not worth getting it if it's anything less than 500kbps, as it wouldn't be any better than justin or ustream.
One thing is that you have to register your interest interest, could it be if not enough people register they'll crawl back to ITV and Setanta with their tail between their legs?

This is what I'm thinking. Surely an illegal Justin stream and a legal £10 stream will produce different levels of quality. Hennessy will hopefully do his homework and realise that to make this work he needs a solid stream of good picture and buffering quality, or people won't touch this shit with a bargepole next time he fails to do a TV deal

A proper stream and an illegal one is like night and day in most cases.
Occasionally you'll get a mint one, but generally the popular fights get flooded and the quality drops through the floor and then justin or Ustream pull the channel when they see what the crack is.
When doing a stream, usually you get the broadcasting team to send you 3 x streams.
One at 250k, one at 500k and one at 1000k so that depending on your own speed internet, you can pick the one that runs crisp on your screen.
They use a product called Flash Media Encoder, which is a free Adobe product and then they just pipe it onto the net via a PC or laptop at ringside.
All tv companies will give you a camera feed - it's things like the commentators that may be tricky to get permission to use. They may have to lay on their own, due to them being contracted to the TV company.
The only difference on watching a legit stream, is often when the official TV company goes to an Ad break, you'll just stair at the empty ring ! which i dont mind.
