Are you crazy, it will be freezing outdoors in Dublin in October and the only venue suitable for the crowd is the RDS and that would still be a poor venue.

The 02 is a fantastic venue to watch fights in because of the small floor space, so you get a great view of the ring. I think Peters should have the air conditioning quite low because it would favour Dunne alot more and against Cordoba the 02 was very warm.

Steve, I've been studying Poonsawat for a couple of weeks now and I am more and more impressed with him the more I read and see.

Dunne has been installed as the 8/13 favourite for the fight - I reckon Poonsawat could be pretty good value. There isnt much of a doubt in my mind that Dunne will visit the canvas at some stage during the fight.

poonsawat v hernandez was in an air-conditioned hall so it won't make any difference.
this could be an easy fight for dunne if he can keep the thai off but i don't think he can. he will win the first three rounds while poonsawat figures him out and slows him down and then the thai will break him down.

Poonsawat looks a bit slow of feet to me. He should be able to get to Dunne though. I want to see Dunne KOd because I'm just sick of the irish louts who write shite on the forum concerning Dunne. Some people even think he can compete with Juanma.

But to be fair you do get a little excited in some of your posts Feargal! Pot and kettle some might say.

It's no different than the Haye fans who think that chinny fool could compete with either Klitschko but no one ever calls those posters English louts,I'm not even Irish or a fan of Dunne(Munroe would squish him like a bug imo) but the Irish posters are no more deluded than 99% of Brits on this forum.

He is good at what he does but what he does is predictable. He keeps the gloves high and the hands heavy and comes straight at you. Out of reach he reaches and lunges with hooks and overhands and if you let him in close he'll look to launch a heavy handed flurry.

The guy he was fighting there had no movement whatsoever. He just kind of let Poonsawat come at him when he should have been turning him and up on his feet. Dunne will be better in that regard. If Dunne gets caught with an assault like the one in the second round though, it'll be all over.

I think I'd favour Dunne as long as he doesn't get caught. Poonsawat strikes me as a fighter that you could tire out if you fight the right fight. Dunne is the taller man, so he should always stay out of range and always keep turning him while popping little one-two's anytime he gets close. The way to win I think is make Poonsawat miss when he reaches and lunges. Those are energy sapping punches that he throws if he misses. Keep him chasing Dunne around the ring and frustrate him with a constant jab and the odd combo. He'll tire in the later rounds if he insists at going at that pace and he's made to miss.

So in short, the way to a Dunne victory is a good outside game, making Poonsawat miss while chasing him and tiring him out, and by no means getting mixed up in prolonged trading exchanges.

It should be a decent fight between Dunne and Poonsawat. So lets just sit back and enjoy it. Personally I would prefer to see Dunne KO'd. However, Dunne is a decent fighter and would probably beat Munroe. He's just not top level thats all. One clip and he'll be out of there.

personally i dont think bernard is capable of stick and move - he like to stand and jab and i think this will be his undoing in this fight.

I was told by Galaxy that the only reason they signed anything with Pat Magee is they were told he is/was the promoter of Bernard Dunne. The problems stemmed not because they weren't interested in fighting for more money - obviously they were - but because they believe Brian Peters to be Dunne's promoter and feel slighted by Magee and Charles Atkinson. As the WBAsses did not wish to allow a two week extension, they were put in a position where they had two days to make the deal with Peters, thus supposedly running the risk of a suit by Magee, or go to the purse bid.

Well, the second big fight for Dunne in 2009 is only around the corner.....

On September 26th we will see what is sure to be another great fight in the O2 dublin.

I would like to know a little bit more about Poonsawat, i.e what type of fighter is he?

I seen Poonsawat fighting Cordoba (Available on YouTube) and it seemed that he wasn't the most technical fighter and he looked to be relying on his power more than anything.

If anyone has any infor on Poonsawat can you please let me know as I can not make heads nor tails of the fight at the moment.
