I must admit that I had never heard of Nasser before this fight was made, but my natural thought was that I hope he beats Frankie (based purely on the fact that I don't have an allegience to either boxer and in such circumstances I usually root for the underdog).

However, after reading this thread I now hope that Frankie wins ! (fickle I know !!).

Safeerah - you are not doing your son any favours.

In my opinion you need to let your sons boxing do the talking, as your approach on this thread will not help his career.

No problem.

I would say however that for boxers in particular (who have pressure to sell tickets) that ALL supporters are valuable (unless you are deliberately going for the "people will buy tickets to see him get beat" approach ?).

Social media is a massive opportunity for boxers if used correctly - and a massive negative if used incorrectly.

I stand my original comment that in my opinion you are not doing your lad any favours.

Nasser has around 4,000 fans on facebook and many thousands in the middle east, don't try to assume anything, your just trying to be a smart " I wanted him to win , but because his father and trainer defends him, changed my mind now, how fickle I am " would you defend your son, if you have one ? plenty of people in the industry have the same problem on the forums defending thier fighters, that why a lot of them have left the forums, so we lose a lot of the inside information, valuable for true boxing fans, well done guys, keep up the good work, bite the hand that feeds you.

If you've read the escapades of Boxen on ESB then this is a pretty similar sequel. Oh, without Naji making up a load of accounts and arguing about himself.

Unlike someone like you who is a boxing fan and likes a bit of banter, some people come on to be nasty to other people, you have to take the rough with the smooth, some people seem to object to me as a father and trainer raising the profile of my son Nasser Al Harbi, it is a though these people have not had a proper relationship with their own father so resent father and son working in harmony relationships, I am not the only one as well who has experienced this other people in the industry have as well, does it bother me ? No, but I give as good as I get, maybe more lol. "Sheep" comes to mind, lets all hate a boxer who does not go on the forums, who most of them don't even know, who is well liked by people who have met him and complimented by people who have watched him train, spar and fight, including people in the industry, do I respect the opinions of these green eyed monsters ? No. I am very focassed, I have got Nasser in the shape of his life for this fight and we have not took the fight to lose, we expect to win, inshallah we will.
Well I think this is a good fight for Nasser as all the pressure is on the favourite. I know your out to win but even if Nasser performs well and loses he'll come out good like C Woodhouse. The only problem with high profile boxers like FG is that if he gets an oppertunity to fight for a belt he'll pull out so quick and the way some of these F....W.. bills are going nowadays you never if its on till the day of the fight. Could Nasser deal with another dissapointment of not fighting?
That's why I wondered why there has been no build up, no write ups, especially in Birmingham where both fighters are highly rated and everything Frankie does has mass media coverage, Frankie himself has not said much, which is unusual for a Birmingham match, in answer to your question, we have offers from abroad and I myself have ben asked to set up boxing academies in the UAE, boxing is going through bad times over here at the moment, Nasser has been avoided long enough now and ignored, even though he is only 22 we can't afford another dead year.
ever thought you may be contributing to him being ignored?

These internet spats you seem to be having are not helping your son mate. If you have to dig up articles from nearly 4 years ago to back your point, I suggest you get a a new PR man?
Especially if you happen to be the PR man, as in this case P stands Pointless and R for Rhetoric.

Nice to see Slap still rising to the bait tho, cant help himself either.

Pair of kids.

Exactly what i said in my first post and no i am not a alias get a mod to do a IP check if u wish i know nath and have met naji on many occasions he is a kl guy. but the internet and forums are usually full of trolls and all saf does is constantly feed them. The thing is if you search nasser al-harbi on google this is 1 of the first things that comes up not ideal to have a fighters farther and trainer trading insults with boxing fans when ur looking for potential sponsors promoters to push your fighter.

All im saying saf is it is not very professional i understand your frustration but you seriously need to take a step back and just concentrate on training your son fair enuff you wanna post on the forum to spread interest on up coming fights why not just post updates and answer serious questions and just ignore the insults.

Wow, I went away for a couple of days and come back to 7 pages on the Frankie v nas fight, 6 of which are from nasers dad !
Can't wait for the fight now, Frankie will dish out a boxing lesson on the 25th and I hope nasers dad learns to take the pressure off his kid by shutting up in the lead up to his fights !

Bottom line is that Al Harbi's only chance to win this fight is to knock Frankie out.

His previous fights and record indicate that this happens rather infrequently.

Consider that Gavin is by far the best opponent Al Harbi has faced (even if he puts in a 'Woodhouse' performance) then Al Harbi's chances are remote.

I personally believe that Al Harbi has more chance of KOing FG than of out-boxing him to a decision.

Good luck to both though! :box:

He is lying, he left towards the end of the 3 round, a round before the cut opened up. I have the video, in slowing it down you can see a soft punch land, then nassers comes up with no cut then the heads go together and when they come out nasser is bleeding.
