i think i know what you mean about height not being a factor, it's just that almost all of the boxers i can think of who use that kind of rolling style effectively- Toney, Mayweather, our own Ian Napa- tend to be shorter. not sure i can recall a distinctly taller fighter doing it consistently at the top level.
If you google my lad and fighter Nasser Al Harbi and watch his fight with the no7 in the world Emanuele Della Rosa, on google in Italy , it's not on you tube, you will see him use it, at times, but in a higher posture then Mayweather, when you are tall and you lift your leading shoulder up, whilst tucking your chin in, you can arch back from punches, making it more difficult to reach you because of the hieght.
Nasser is a very good fighter but to really move on he needs to sell tickets as in this game ability alone doesnt guarantee success you have to sell tickets or else its not going to happen for him which is a real shame for such a quality fighter/Prospect
He has improved greatly in that department, but they keep moving the goal posts, more and more tickets are needed nowadays, a 100 used to be a good ticket seller , not now, with the costs you need more and more all the time and better oponents want bigger purses, so to move up the ladder you need massive sales or you have to risk home town decisions fighting away in other countries. Thanks for the compliments mate.

nevermind, I found the fight against the italian guy. Nasser does look talented I have to say. He has a good boxing brain from the looks of things which I personally always appreciate. Im curious mate, I dont pretend to understand the politics of professional boxing, etc but how comes you've gone down the WBC asia route rather than I dont know trying to fight for the british title, etc?

This was my post that got some Idiots upset

Great post, a lot of it is that people in this country don't like our sportsman that are over confident, they see it as arrogance, then a large amount are jealous, a smaller amount are just racists who can't stand a pakistani being successful, then there is Islamophobia, those who see him as the enemy, it don't end there either, plenty of Pakistanis/ muslims see him as a sell out or are jealous and hope he gets beat, he can't win, no wonder he ran to the USA, unfortunately we like humble losers in this country maybe as individuals we can relate to this more, I have to say I do not know Amir and have never met him in person, I support any british fighters against foreign fighters no matter what colour or creed they are, even if they put their foot in their mouth from time to time, we are still human.

What a load of crap Wrists, i am suprised at you. You sound like a jilted teenager !!

As for having fought the best instead of at some Daganham centre, why didn't he fight Murray or Thaxton when he was coming through the ranks ? The only fighter that he has taken on that could be described in those tones is Maidana, the rest you can forget, ie, Kotelnik, Solita, Barrerra, Judah, Malignaggi, Peterson etc......

I think if you read my post on here, you would see that i am fair on Khan. It seems to me that unless everyone licks Khan's arse, then they are either branded a racist or tarred with other objectionable statements. It's you who shoud be ashamed, for writing a piece of half witted crap, that bears no relation to what people actually think about Khan.

Fair point , there is no ranking system in this country governed by the BBB of C and plenty of people trying to get british title shots, title shots are determined by the big promoters, Tv companies and manager relationships ect.. Most champions don't fight the best in their divisions, so pick the right oponents, first we tried to get nas a shot at the midland area titles from Welter upto Middle, non of them would fight Nas, we then tried English and british title shots, we are close, but so far away. The WBC route gave us a chance to get noticed by the WBC, in fact Nasser is rated in the top 7 in Asia and been nominated for a world ranking by the WBC after his performance against the no 7 in the world Della Rosa, who is now going to the USA to fight for a world title, for the second time after losing to ZBik in Germany by a split decision. Nas would love to fight for a British title, I think he would beat Rose, but we have to be patient, crazy has it sounds you could end up fighting for a world title before a british title.

well if thats a reason to seriously dislike someone, then it's a sad day, he's a man that chose to get punched in the head for a living, you won't find many intellectuals who make that choice. derek chisora comes across as a "right thicko" but is portayed as more of a lovable rogue as a result.

so am i suppose to like amir BECAUSE he sounds like hes a downs syndrome thats suffered a stroke then? The guy can hardly get out an illegible sentence. Having a conversation with him would be truly painful. His vocabulary is pretty much limited to 1 syllable words and "yaknowwhaimean" x 1000. And as for his tweets..... sweet jesus. It would be a sad and restrictive world if u didnt have the free will to support or not support whoever you damn well chose to without feeling "ashamed". Joe Bugner had a lot of success and no1 seemed to give two hoots about how little support he got. Sometimes the public simply dont warm to a sportsman, look how long it took people to come round to calzaghe? If Amirs so upset, proves us wrong. Rebuild, maybe with a rematch or 3 and then facing stiffer competition, stopping the truly brainless tweets on the way. And regarding Chisora, hes hardly got public support has he? Even among boxing fans, did u see the reception he got at the fight and weigh in? But at least hes got a slither of humour to he rants, amirs about as funny as the houlocaust. He also doesnt claim to be a superstar who wouldve beaten muhammad ali over four rounds.

As I said, Im pretty indifferent to the guy, but dont feel its right people r pulled up for not liking him. Part and parcel of fame.

On a sidenote, I wondered when this thread would turn into a tired "racism" thread.

Its like the hollow "your jealous of his success" argument. Weak.

Sounds like you have issues yourself mate and have all the traits of a racist yourself, I mean ignorance for one, taking the mic out of down syndrome, then insulting his intelligence level, then commenting how tiresome to you discussing racism is, if you are not a racist you are certainly doing your best to qualify.
