That's just plain ridiculous and a massive generalisation.
Rumpole who posts on here has delivered many a wise word in recent months to fighters.
I've gone through the mill myself on occasions.
I find it insulting to suggest that any advice would be prioritised as 1/ what's in it for me 2/ what can be done for the fighter or promotor.
Each case is unique.
No point in speculating about what's right and what's wrong. Only the two parties know the content of the contract, and the expiry date.

I've found in the past that these 'problems' are rationalised away thus; what is good for me is good for my practice and what is good for practice is good for my (future) clients; there's no one in the world who sticks their hands up and admits to greed and there are some who fleece people and charge far beyond any semblance of reason for an hourly rate and for sending out a letter - though I point no fingers.

What you charge your clients is your business, palooka; and if they're willing to pay what you ask , who am I to say you're an unreasonable, money-obsessed, pubic hair-eating plutocrat.

I'm sure I can remember reading that when the title was won is was understood there was a mandatory defense due in November - that is why it seemed disingenous when McDonnell claimed that he didn't have a bout lined up - he had to make a defense; with all the palaver and ducking and diving who could blame Dennis Hobson if he's just watched it all unfold. The BBBoC has said that the contract between Hobson and McDonnell is sound - if he were so minded Hobson could really play hardball in the courts (the wheels of justice turn slowly) and bollocks up Jamies career and no matter how fantastic Eddie is it won't impress a High Court Judge.

Has McDonnell officially signed with Hearn? I don't remember an announcement, it seems that fighters are being tapped up and I'm sure the board have rules against that.
