Even in complete survival mode Crolla could do nothing to stop Loma's attack. Absolute mismatch, which just shows the level Loma is on. Crolla is no bum, but he looked like it in comparison to the brilliance of Lomachenko.

Unfortunately, it was inevitable. Crolla would've hated being stopped, so I would've been reluctant to step in myself, but without the one-shot power to turn it around it was only a matter of time.

Hard to say who did the worst out of fielding and crolla. not that it really matters.

That's it for Crolla.
At least at World Title Level.
Hat's off to a massive over-achiever.
His incredible fighting heart, determination and ring IQ somehow dragged a weedy, adolescent body through an unlikely career as a world champion boxer.

It was the dangerous and pointlesss mismatch that so many from outside of those selling the fight, apart from Bob Arum who called it spot on, said it would be.
If anyone wants to listen back to the commentary, they will hear Spencer Oliver say that Anthony Crolla had started the fight well during the third round, excitement from all three at a body shot from Crolla, and absolutely no analysis of Lomas work other than mentioning his feet.
Jack Reiss was within his rights to rule that Crolla had the ropes keeping him up, then the bell interrupted his count as Crolla looked clear eyed back at him. He then started a count when Crolla went down an as soon as he saw he was out, ended it. Fine refereeing.
Barker, Oliver and Smith. Absolute bollocks the lot of them.

Cash out fight for Crolla. Totally overmatched. British no hopers have been going out to the States for a final payday since the beginning of time I suppose.

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully Crolla will pocket £150k or so after all deductions including tax. A good lump if he gets home healthy.

Loma is just on another level. He could become the ATG if he keeps adding big wins.
Crolla is no slouch. Hes a world level fighter, durable, a solid all rounder with a good, resume and Loma made him look second rate.

It's great that fighters are willing to fight the best to call themselves world champ, but that should never have happened for the well being of Crolla, shame on all concerned except Crolla.

3 years ago Crolla was decent, he’s not world class in my opinion. He beat Perez and the unknown Barrosso with relative ease and looked good in doing it but was schooled by Linares twice who’s flawed and fragile himself.
He’s been around forever and been in some good fights though. Your right he’s a solid all rounder but this looks like the end. Will they try match him with Campbell or Coyle or feed him to someone else...

Mismatches are generally safer for the fighters than 50/50s are. I do understand what you are saying but if we start crying 'shame' for that fight, we probably should cry 'shame' about boxing full stop.

The first fight was competitive even though the scorecards didn't reflect.
The second bout was more dominant by Linares, who tbf, was on a roll and had not lost in a while.
