Damn right. It seems to me though, that even if the fans turned their backs and simply ignored the alphabet mafia, it wouldn't make a lot of difference, probably none at all, because those responsible for perpetuating their rule are the networks, the promoters (including the "he's not a promoter"s) and the fighters themselves.gilgamesh wrote: ↑12 Jul 2019, 11:56If you beat the #1 guy you're already undisputed. Having all the paper belts that one of them will then proceed to strip you of because you didn't fight the #15 ranked guy who is inexplicably their mandatory needs to stop being held up as somehow important. The belts need to stop being given any respect.
Sounds like half the world is in the running.

Andrade isn't a short notice type of fighter. He or any top level guy will take it in short time like that imo.SenorPipino wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 15:24About 75%
They've run out of time to pick a super high profile opponent. Usually there's about a 3 month lead time for promoting the year's biggest bouts.
It's down to just 2 months and no announcement.
Andrade is an outstanding boxer but doesn't yet have the It Factor that would make it a heavily hyped fight.
Or Canelo could bypass the September date altogether. Supposedly his surgically repaired knee is causing some problems.

Yeah people talk a lot in public lets see if he's offered it. I don't think he will be offered it anyway to tricky of a style.SenorPipino wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 15:36world ranked wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 15:28

Andrade said right before the Sulecki fight that he would be available in September for a Canelo bout.
Being paid the purse of a lifetime always makes it more appetizing for fighters to adjust their schedules.

Only the fans bother dissecting the style he's best suited for.
Canelo doesn't give a damn. Just line 'em up. Let the opponents worry about his style.
