Teofimo would stop Gamboa early. So would Berchelt. I haven't seen enough Haney fights, but I suspect he would too.

Loma may do plenty of wrong in April. It may be too early for Lopez, but he's certainly a dangerous young guy, and he may well knock him off the throne right now. I look forward to that one.
Me too, though I don't see loma on any throne.
He's certainly on the Lightweight throne.

Gamboa is well past his prime but he's not quite as finished as Paulie was making it out. He beat Jason Sosa in 2017 and Roman Martinez a few months ago. He's probably better than anyone Haney has fought so far.

That said, Davis had a really poor workrate in the middle rounds and I hope he's not going the Broner route of making little pit stops at each weight class while he slowly eats himself out of contendership. It's funny that all these guys idolize Floyd but none of them have the discipline he had to maintain his weight and become the top guy at every single weight class he fought in.

Is Davis vs. Haney a possibility now, or do TMT guys have a policy of not fighting each other?

Agree. Too bad Gamboa is past his prime. He was beast once upon a time.
Yes, he was.

Gamboa looked relatively good, his major problem remained in his chin. He tried to box, but he wasn't very effective. His wasn't willing to trade punches. Davis had a good lead in this fight. However, I expected Davis to score an actual KO.

Jack started slow in his trademark fashion, but still overall he outboxed Pascal quite clearly. I don't know, how could that Pascal score be made.

36-37 year old Pascal and Jack looked younger yesterday than Davis.

I can not understand a lot of posters here. Davis (yesterday) was not excellent, but he was very well, surely.
His opponent was very experienced and skillful. BTW, I feel sorry for Gamboa (Rigondaux, Ortiz, and partly Dorticos, too).
All of these Cubans had a great potential, but their respective resumes and earnings are not so great. Simply, they had been mismanaged. Unfortunately.

His chin is OK IMO. His defense not so much. Overall, his boxing skills has faded at age of 38. Plus, Davis is beast

The problem for Cuban boxers if they don't have a built in audience in America like other Latin fighters. They're just not as easy to promote. There are a lot of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans exposed to Boxing on U.S. television. Cubans, not as many.

And the Ethnic background, and support system therein seems to play a big part in the chances a fighter gets, and how hard he's promoted.

Not that we don't see plenty of great fighters that aren't from these countries. It's just easier for promoters when they already have a large built in fanbase.

I am sure you are right. What do you consider as a worse for boxing, generally speaking, the promoters or the judges/referees ?

If there are corrupt judges/referees who do you think paid 'em off?

That being said I've also seen my fair share of what would appear to be simply an incompetent judge or referee as in, it was a small time fight, and I can't imagine anyone would've bothered to put the fix in on it, and the score or officiating is still WAY off the mark anyway.

Corruption and stupidity. Sometimes it's hard to tell which is which, which is why either/or should be handled the same.

I'd think Dort has been earning far better than most top CWs traditionally have. After the tournament he should hook up with PBC or something and fight at HW.

I like him, but I doubt he can be successful at HW.

We are off topic, definitely.

Beating the Champ that was considered the man to beat in the division.

Obviously not, that's why I said it. Semantics really, I'd rate him first but no I don't think he's the best and he definitely hasn't faced the best the division has to offer.
