I just don't understand where people have seen the BJS that's good enough to outpoint .. or even frustrate Canelo?

BJS will be hoping to run and see out the full 12rnds - and then hope there's enough mugs out there to say he deserved the decision.

I think most people base it on the Lemieux fight, which to be fair was a excellent performance. IF he is super super fit, and just flicks a jab i could see it frustrating canelo a bit, but it will be tough for it to be enough for billy not to get stopped, let alone win a fair decision, let alone win a canelo decision.
still mabey the only game-plan, I think If billy gets close enough to throw a power punch he will monstered to the body. Canelos liver shot + billy fighting liver side forwards will be an issue i feel.

The next step of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's master plan at 168lbs in 2021 has been made official.

Very shortly after Alvarez required just three rounds to break the spirit of mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim in Miami, his next bout was confirmed as being against current undefeated WBO super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders on May 8.

The venue for the fight will be announced in due course, per Matchroom Boxing, who promote Saunders and have a working agreement in place with Canelo Promotions. The fight will, however, be available globally on DAZN with the exception of Mexico.

“We want to unify the division, he’s a world champion, we want to go for it and we need to go for it,” said Canelo. “He’s a very difficult fighter and has a championship, the WBO.

“People talk but I’m a very mature fighter and I know how to control myself. All I need to do is go into the ring, win and make history.”

“It’s because it hasn’t been done, no one has done it in Latin America. In the world only a few fighters have done it, the best. I want to make history and be one of the best in the world.”

Saunders will be defending his WBO title for a third time, after recently sending Martin Murray into retirement following his comprehensive points win over the Brit.

“Canelo, I’m ready to rock and roll,” said Saunders. “You have to dare to be great and you aren’t going to be a great if you don’t beat the greats.

“I believe I am the only one with the footwork, know-how, skillset, mindset and brain to unlock that door in Canelo.

“He’s the main man in the sport and the face of boxing. You have to give him respect, he hasn’t ducked anyone, he’s beaten good names, but nobody is unbeatable, and I believe I have got the tools to beat him if I use them properly and if the gamelan comes off that I believe works.

Initially I think he’ll be sharp enough to stay out of trouble but I suppose there have always been the doubts about Bill’s engine - he doesn’t seem to live the life - and eventually canelo will catch up with him. It could be similar to the eubank fight but with a bigger shift towards Canelo after halfway and a more brutal outcome

Both chins of the finest porcelain however, whereas I can't recall an instance of the Travelling Prankster ever being hurt (although I must confess I've only ever watched about 3 of his fights) let alone down.

I wonder what ridiculous odds I can get to throw away a fiver on?

that random albanian guy he fought a couple fights ago hurt him

bjs gets a bit of a masterclass boxer reputation from the lemieux fight, but he's had more close fights than masterclasses vs recognizable opponents:

lee, ryder, akakov (i had a draw), coceres, eubank. was pushed by blackwell too and as mentioned hurt by isufi.


and of course none of those guys are remotely close to canelos level, nor is canelo a hard punching but superlimited slugger like lemieux.


canelo just levels above for me, has come on massively, is winning at the elitest level out there, and has seen pretty much every style out there. preliminary prediction is that canelo wins pretty much every round and minute as bjs dicks around and just looks to move and survive but offers little substantial work of his own. of course some dudes looking to give him rounds might fall in love with his air flicks lol

I can see Saunders doing something silly or having to pull out and being replaced by Andrade for the vacant title.

There was an interview he did at his stables and his horse seemed scared of him or something, or he might have batted its nose. I've been around horses and people who keep them enough to not notice anything particularly out of the ordinary, but some people ran with speculation about something that I didn't see. Don't get me wrong, BJS is a king sized twat, but the horse thing always seemed a reach.

The horse was shit scared of him and he kept pretending to box the horse, I have been around horses and the poor thing was well nervous any time BJS looked his way.

That isn't how horses interact with there owners

BJS pulling out is the best bet on this fight.
If he goes in with Alvarez,and I'm not sure he will, he'll get stopped mid/late imho

He isnt anywhere as fast and sharp as Khan - or as strong and dangerous as Kovalev ... all BJS has got is some bizarre reputation as a super slick boxer based on pretty much one fight. Those that give him a chance of being competitive against Canelo need to remind themselves that this is a guy who a young novice Eubank ran very close ... and would likely do so again if they fought.

and the khan fight was 5 years ago and canelo has come on since then, stronger and sharper and mexican beefier
