Let’s rewind.

We agree that Tyson’s team, the organisers of the event and also the owners of the Legends Only League, delayed the exhibition, which means that the Metro and ESPN are reporting the same story.

If you’d read my post that you quoted, you would have realised this.

I can also provide more articles confirming Tyson’s desire to delay the bout (i.e. Fox Sports and The RING).

We also agree that last week the CSAC were having talks with VADA, after the media raised concerns about the lack of testing.

We also agree that Mike Tyson previously boasted that he burns through $40,000 of weed at his ranch every month.

So we only disagree about something I openly admitted was mere speculation, whereby you don’t believe that Mike Tyson (the owner of a cannabis empire that has also undergone a drastic physical transformation) would have decided to delay the bout due to fears of testing positive for banned substances (i.e. recreational drugs or PED’s).

Would you agree that’s a fair summary of the situation?

Jones is probably being used as a foil to add some weird sort of prestige to proceedings until he eventually withdraws and Tyson ends up fighting his valet or maybe Homer Simpson or similar.

Jones Jr. would have left his calendar blank whilst prepping for an exhibition that was postponed due to a commercial decision made by Team Tyson. One party is at fault for the postponement, since it was due to a premeditated decision.

So it seems entirely reasonable for Roy to be compensated for any wasted training expenses and any lost income due to the postponement of the 12th September event.

And it’s also sensible for Roy to renegotiate new and improved terms for the revised date, due to the event generating more revenue than it would have done if it had been held on the 12th September, coupled with Jones Jr. having to cancel any existing plans that he would have earned income from, as well having to fork out additional training expenses.

Team Tyson postponed the event. And their decision cost Roy Jones Jr. money. So it’s only reasonable for them to reimburse him accordingly and also renegotiate improved terms for the revised exhibition date.

Team Tyson would have definitely appreciated the consequences of their decision to postpone the event, and they would have already anticipated the need to provide Roy with a revised and improved offer catering for the change in schedule.

I really don’t see any problem about the latest developments, because what’s being said is common sense business practice that most people would consider the norm.
