According to ESPN. Talks have broken off.
Disagreements in contracts.
Disagreements in contracts.
Fox and Caleb Plant want that Canelo money.
Plant could end up losing his belt for less money.tiny_acres wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 20:09 I do not know what the contracts state.
But obviously Canelo is the A side. But plant has something that Canelo has openly said he wants.
Canelo will have to make some concessions if he wants the fight
Yes he could. It's a gamble for sureThe Asleep Lamps wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 21:32Plant could end up losing his belt for less money.tiny_acres wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 20:09 I do not know what the contracts state.

Normaly im anti A side things but in this case it makes sense because the stardom is miles apart... Plant is probably getting a 10 times high pay day, so how the fornicate can he still get it if its for a replacement fight, he is getting it to fight canelo... Canelo is probably getting less than his normal payday, so if plant disepears and canelo replaces him its still a big draw.DrDuke wrote: ↑28 Jul 2021, 03:48 "One that is absurd: If I get injured or sick then he gets a late replacement for the same amount of guaranteed money, but if he gets sick or injured, then we gotta wait for him," Plant added.
Plant is doing the right thing. Apart from that, Canelo's team demanded all trademark side A stuff, including the instant rematch in a case of a loss. There're too many privilages for side A today. Canelo chose the easiest division for his undisputed legacy, let him fight a bit more outside of the ring then.
Canelo could move forward. He's a proud fighter and he's bigger than those belts. Also Canelo is his own boss and he ain't gonna be contractually forced by any boxing platform to fight certain fighters. Canelo could fight the best ranked 168 ibf fighter and become the No 1 mandatory challenger for Plant, then purse bid.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 20:03Fox and Caleb Plant want that Canelo money.
If they aren’t willing to compromise, the Mexican will find another opponent.
Caleb Plant has previously rejected two opportunities to face Canelo.
One gets the feeling that if he does it again for a third time, he’ll be blacklisted by Canelo’s handlers and regarded as an annoying time waster!
Outrageously moronic fight fans will inevitably choose to forget Plant rejecting three separate offers… and will instead pretend that Canelo is ducking Plant!
Caleb Plant’s career-high payday is $750K.
And he feels that he’s worth more than $10m and is also demanding the bout be covered by his home network (Fox)?
FFS! Gimme a break!![]()
