I think that is because of the "New Wave" in the 90s - with the likes of Offaly and Clare winning the Championship twice and Wexford winning it in between. I think it's pretty much accepted that those three counties completely outworked the more successful counties who had (probably) the more skilful players... Of course, that's not to take away from Johnny Dooley, Jamesie O'Connor and Martin Storey, each of them were great Hurlers in their own right. And you'd struggle to find any back men better than Brian Lohan, Seanie McMahon and Brian Whelahan anywhere...
my da is from limerick city i grew up watching gaa in london , until magner put a lot of money in munster we limerick were going no where fast , and i will never down play or disrescpt the players skills ,but remember a good gaa football will get a thousand of pound contract in aus not just a famers game no more , i hate accusing players like thisCrease wrote: ↑18 May 2021, 05:38I think that is because of the "New Wave" in the 90s - with the likes of Offaly and Clare winning the Championship twice and Wexford winning it in between. What I'm saying is - it's obvious that their has to be a minimum degree of talent to achieve the top of the mountain but the work-rate and application that the New Wave put in just surpassed what The Cats and The Rebels were doing at the time...
That's part of the reason why Brian Cody has been so dominant with The Cats - certainly the talent is there but they will never allow themselves to be outworked and with the ability that they have, they were seemingly unstoppable...
sounds like that Barcelona team that just so happened to cover much, much more ground per man than their rivals did.Crease wrote: ↑18 May 2021, 05:38I think that is because of the "New Wave" in the 90s - with the likes of Offaly and Clare winning the Championship twice and Wexford winning it in between. Absolute nonsense. You sound like an old woman.Liston Like Jab wrote: ↑27 May 2021, 12:25 It is only a matter of time before a boxer dies after taking a beating by someone that fails a PED test. If that happens, what little credibility our sport has will disappear.
pascal previously tried to discredit vada and not use them, and instead use the much less strict usada, was very suspiciouspolecateddy wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 07:55 Jean Pascal went this week, testing positive for a stack of 3 synthetic compounds. As someone said earlier in the thread, recovery is a huge part of taking PEDs. For an older, possibly out of shape boxer, being able to double your workload in the gym and recover is huge for making rapid progress. Try and do that natural and you end up sore and knackered!
beside of boxing people who knows abt VADA?? WADA USADA everybody knows them.
The main reasons celebrities like The Rock aren’t open about their PED use is fear of public perception and loss of work/endorsements. Anthony Joshua isn’t going to be getting much sponsorship stuck in a PED league.
Not for long. The market (per usual) would adjust attitudes.polecateddy wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 16:19The main reasons celebrities like The Rock aren’t open about their PED use is fear of public perception and loss of work/endorsements.
