Hmmm. I think it’ll be at least a year before they get approval and any changes are made.

It’s being reported that BT Sport lost £220m last year so it’ll be interesting to see how Discovery think that’ll change. I can’t see premier league/European football rights fees changing that much given how many other players now will be interested. It’ll also be a tough market to increase the price as these are the kind of things people will cut back on if they’re struggling.

As someone who subscribes to BT hopefully they get the Eurosport channels included in the package fairly quickly.

Yeah - the boxing output on standard BT Sports has been awful this year. I watch a fair bit of the UFC and some of the football so can just about justify paying for it.

I really hope I’m wrong but I can’t see the deal leading to be more boxing. Eurosport dipped their toe but pulled it back pretty sharpish.

I can’t see how they’ll make it work profitably but I’m sure they’ve got solid plans.

I dont know how to rank those tied at third, but the fact that one of them is probably the third best fight franks put on in the last 5+months (2nd best for UK time), is pretty fucked up.

Not sure Warren is the second biggest now with Ben 'Box Office' Shalom on the scene and Fury retired makes it look very bleak.

Only thing stopping boxxer from overtaking Eddie by the end of 2023 is AJ (who fights sky but on Eddie's cards so is a bit of a weird Astrix) and Canelo, who goes anywhere but seems to get along with Ed.

I wonder how long DAZN can go on for in its present format now ? The present financial problems is going to be a reality check for a lot , stuff like DAZN and PPV's will be hit. People will stick with SKY and BT as you get the football etc but a lot of financial projections are going to be wrong soon.

I bought allegedly, then Frank moved to BT Sport then they put all the fights on box office, I bought Dazn and they upped the price about 300 percent like a week later, fornicate, we just want to watch some boxing

The £1.99 price was always just an interim thing.

Frank has signed a 3 year extension with BT Sport.

Not if the money isn't there, entering unprecedented times now. Horse racing already seeing crowds go down on the big days which is the same market, drinking casuals, that turn up for the big fights

At the end of last year Access Industries invested $4.3B to clear the DAZN debt, hardly a signal they’re going to pull the plug. They have rights to Seria A, La Liga, Womens UEFA Champs, amongst others. It’s only a matter of time before they have an analogue channel on the Sky Platform in the UK. They didn’t quite manage to buy BT Sport, but they weren’t far off it. Their demise by some is wishful thinking.

They only have womens football. BT have serie a and premier have la liga. They have Eddie Hearns fights and womens football. Dazn uk is a massive failure.

It’s not been a success but it’s not a massive failure either. Their U.K. losses will be much lower in the U.K. than several other of their bigger markets simply because they haven’t spent loads over here.

I would say it is a massive failure in the UK. Women's champions league and Hearn fights(without Joshua and whyte) can't watch it in pubs, has little press coverage, failed on bt sport bid. If that's not a failure I don't know what is.

How many of the original subscribers who joined when it was £1.99 are still with them you reckon?

I joined at £1.99 and I kept the subscription going when it went to £7.99, for a couple months, mostly because they had a good schedule.

What killed it for me was because DAZN only have boxing, I'm not interested in archive footage (which I can find on YouTube) and the women's champions league, there was a few dry months, January/February in particular.. What am I gonna pay £16 for in them 2 months?

A least when you're sub'd to other platforms/channels, they have something on all the time, so you can get your months worth.

Matchroom/GBP will need to start putting on cards in Jan/Feb, to keep that sub base strong.. That was the killer for me.

mine just bumped from 3 bucks to 13 bucks. think that might be enough to unsub, but fuk they make it difficult.

Im currently subbed 25 bucks for one streaming servis, 10 bucks for a weather/surf forcast servis and 13 bucks for dazn. only thing stopping me from ditching first two is you need a PHD in computer tech to unsub. (havent tried dazn yet, but the others are fuked up).

Price bump plus PPV will see a lot leave in the UK. Aus just needs some clarity, if i get all DAZN cards on DAZN ill keep it for sure, but currently all DAZN UK cards are on a different streaming servis (the one i pay 25 for)....

If i can get 2 AJ fights and 2 canelo fights non PPV, plus a few extras, ill keep DAZN for sure.

I found cancelling DAZN very straightforward and I'm a moron. Just login and click cancel my account. That's it.
