Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Deontay Wilder - Who wins?

It's still nothing until somebody officially signs a damn contract already. So far this year it's just rumors, and not even especially good ones at that.
Depends on how bad his knockout loss in April is gonna be..Evander wrote: ↑ Gotta bring it up however unlikely, could Wilder do both April and July ?
Even if he could he wouldn't. A guy fighting 2 times within 3 months these days simply doesn't happen unless he's like a prospect or a flyweight or something.
I doubt he will fight both dates, however I'm still in the dark to what's happenning with Deontay at this point.
Well Wilder has a puncher's chance in any fight, but realistically, he gets the snot beat out of him due to the relentless pressure of Usyk and Wilder's decline.
Chisora, everyone's favourite dance partner if the prom queen is already taken. Let's hope it doesn't go past four rounds.
I think if Dubois does face and beat Wardley, he should have to go through a gauntlet of the toughest opponents before there's any consideration of Usyk facing him again. Wardley, Kabayel, Itauma, Zhang, Parker, Bakole, Torrez, Jalolov then maybe Usyk.
If Dubois beats Wardley or if Wardley beats Dubois. The winner should fight Tyson Fury because that would be the biggest money fight. Possibly bigger than Usyk.
The problem is then that nobody wants to see Usyk beat Fury for a third time either. Fury should also have to go through a gauntlet of the toughest opponents before a third shot at Usyk.gilgamesh wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026, 13:09If Dubois beats Wardley or if Wardley beats Dubois. Let's face it. At the pace Boxing matchmaking moves, by the time any 2 of those fights happen then Usyk should be about ready to retire, and he won't need to fight any of them.joshj909 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026, 13:16The problem is then that nobody wants to see Usyk beat Fury for a third time either. Think I'd rather them both face someone else in that situation. Probably two younger opponents like Jalolov, Itauma and Torrez. Recycling the same opponents has been a big problem with the past 5 years at heavyweight.gilgamesh wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026, 13:27Let's face it. If Fury beats Wardley, I wouldn't mind a 3rd bout with Usyk then. Especially if Usyk were to fight say Kabayel in the meantime.
Dubois would have to clear out cruiserweight as well before he should be allowed to fight Usyk again.
Usyk is definitely not unbeatable. Especially as he gets nearer to 40.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026, 14:06Dubois would have to clear out cruiserweight as well before he should be allowed to fight Usyk again.
After Parker’s defeat, I’m only interested in Usyk vs. Kabayel. I hope Usyk retires after that.
The one issue the heavyweight division has is that Usyk is too damn good. With him out of the picture, so many competitive and interesting title fights could be made.
Since he moved up to heavyweight, only Fury came close (and it took him a second fight).
He hadn't, but it's bound to hit him at some point, and he don't want it to hit him in the 10th round of a life and death struggle to retain his title.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026, 14:19Since he moved up to heavyweight, only Fury came close (and it took him a second fight).
Fury is probably also a level above everyone else in the division.
I agree that age is the only real concern here, but he didn’t look like he had slowed down in his last fight.
Please, no.
Yeah, I was definitely kiddingSyntax Error wrote: ↑09 Feb 2026, 16:17Please, no.
How many times does Usyk have to beat the same guys over and over before the division moves on?
It might be OK if these guys fought 4, 5, 6 times a year maybe, but they fight once a year, twice tops.
All these rematches and possible rematches of rematches is just dull.
I want to see Usyk fight somebody not called Joshua, Fury or Dubois and definitely not Chisora either.
Can we have Kabayel, Wardley, or even Parker, just somebody else who can fight, or brings something to the table?
If Usyk took him on next immediately following Rico, I'd be down with that. Just like Usyk/Rico, I'm likely the only one who has this opinion
