I think he is. Not fair to say he went from failed robber to boxing trainer, he was in the sport long before and it's been in the family for generations.

On the balance of probabilities I assumed he is fairly useful as a trainer based on the same logic that makes me think someone like Ben Davison must have something to offer or he wouldn't keep getting hired.

I don't think he boxed, prob did something as a kid, but as I said it's a family firm, his uncle Jackie had boxed for years before being one of the main trainers in the Peacock, and I think all the brothers and cousins have all done their bits and pieces and been involved

Bellotti boxed without the usual confidence & vigour I've come to expect from him. As as result the bout wasn't the classic encounter I was hoping to see.

Unfortunately for Reece he just wasn't at the races last night and if the stoppage was a tad premature he was shipping some hefty punches and starting to crumble.

As for Garner, all 3 major domestic titles collected and on he marches.

I think I’d have a lot more than a libel charge to worry about if Bowers took offence to my comments. Somebody on here regularly used to post links to the Operation Tiberius report but it never gets referenced any more. Maybe Martin had a quiet word with him, who knows.

Regardless, a read of that would be a real eye opener for anyone labouring under the misapprehension that Bowers is some gentle community minded soul who only turned to crime as a last resort to aid the good people of Canning Town

my thoughts entirely. personally i think he is very poor indeed. tucking your chin down is a basic fundamental of boxing. he will have his head removed from his shoulders the first time he steps up a little bit and faces a puncher.

he is a poundland version of martin Concepcion, just not the correct 'genes' for boxing. just an awful physique for the sport. giraffe necked and chin hanging out to dry.

I thought Garner boxed excellently, done a brilliant job of keeping Bellotti at bay, you know Bellotti is gonna be fit and game while he's on his feet but Garner continuesely got home with better punches, countered him all night and was getting through with the lions share of punches, he was always getting through with the better shots in the exchanges, his left hand worked wonders, the hooks, countering, off the jab, the sneaky uppercuts all worked well, the last couple rounds he was bringing the right hand into play and that was shots that got the ball rolling for then TKO, hurt Bellotti, opened him up before the ref stepped in, I can see where the premature shouts are coming from but Bellotti was definitely hurt and considering how both men boxed I'd have fancied Garner to get him out of there still

I find that interesting to see how far they can go. Sort of adds some suspense to lower level fights.
