Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Stupid fight. A risk to Brook's career and health. Say what you want about ol' fish eyes, but he wouldn't drop a bollock of these proportions

I was thinking this the other day, no way would Frank have exposed one of his fighters to this level of risk.dookus wrote:Stupid fight. A risk to Brook's career and health. Say what you want about ol' fish eyes, but he wouldn't drop a bollock of these proportions

Eubank Jnr lost his pen and Kell Brook a welterweight picked it up for him

I'm seriously thinking about a £3,000 bet. Money for old rope.littlepug wrote:1-3 for golovkin ko win with paddypower, as close to free money as you can get
Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
I only bet when I am certain of the win and this to me is a 95%+ sure thing. I can afford to lose it, but it would hurt. It is easy money thoughSklar wrote:You may well be able to afford to lose that amount of money with no pain felt but please be cautious if that is not the case. I agree with your assessment of the fight but things can happen that are unforeseen. Also, perhaps more dangerously, when you risk that kind of money and win, you'll be more likely to do it again in the future. You won't always win.tobyh5 wrote:£10k gets me £11500 back on bet365 early odds. Not many places you can make that overnight.

Only worth betting when you think the odds are off on the actuality, or you can afford to lose the money.
I might put 100 on GGG to win by KO.

Hats off to Kel for having a go (no guts no glorie ) and that's coming from an Aussie. All the best Kel Brook.

I saw it with my own eyes. Big double chin and bursting out of his waistcoat.BigDoofus wrote:Nonsense. I'm pretty sure it was Nuthouse, actually.
They were completely mugging him off for being fat and only in it for the money.
Definitely Nuthouse.

Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
To be fair, I can't recall reading any one of us (on B&I at least) saying that we thought Brook would win. A lot of people are interested, want to go to see it even, but saying Brook has a chance? Everybody thinks he gets beat.tobyh5 wrote:Brook has one notable win and it was not overwhelming and that was at welterweight so he MAY be overrated at his own class, certainly still unproven. Then he is not just jumping two weights but to take on one of, if not the hardest ever puncher at that weight (certainly arguably).
Crazy fight and cannot believe people on a boxing forum are giving him any chance. Social media I expect, bunch of casuals, but on a boxing forum?!
I thinking of betting big as this is a guaranteed win for GGG.
£10k gets me £11500 back on bet365 early odds. Not many places you can make that overnight.
Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
I never ever bet on anything but am seriously contemplating putting on a very large amount on this fight on GGG? But sods law i could see GGG getting injured and techincally losing and me losing my cash...

Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
What the.....??!!! It's a crazy fight, why on earth is Hearn sending his best prospect for stardom into a certain career damaging beatdown ?
I know we want Kel to step up, but at his own weight, or LM at a push...but this is ridiculous, a massive P4P #1 puncher 2 weights up..
surely he has no chance, its the type of longshot fight you expect a guy going for towards the end of his career, as a big payday, like Amir Khan for instance.
And it's not that he's got nothing to lose because getting brutally whacked in a high-profile fight like this will damage his confidence, his chin & who knows what else.
Bizzaro fight

Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Does the spectre of Errol Spence play a part in Kell/Eddie's thinking? Looks like he'd have had to have fought him...I think Kell could win but it would be a big risk for little reward.
This is a bigger risk but the reward is there.

Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Spence's team didn't want the Brook fight yet and Haymon doesn't seem in a rush to put any of his fighters in with him.Ezzard wrote:Does the spectre of Errol Spence play a part in Kell/Eddie's thinking? Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
This fight reminds me of Michael Nunn vs Marlon Starling. Like Nunn, GGG struggled to get name opponents.
Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Is this because Eubank Sr. fucked about in the negotiations? Jr. needs to fornicate that silly pudendum off before he ruins his career.
Re: Golovkin v Brook - CONFIRMED
Maybe Golovkin just wanted the easier money.banjo wrote:Is this because Eubank Sr. fucked about in the negotiations? Jr. needs to eff that silly pudendum off before he ruins his career.
Why are so few people willing to give the Eubanks the benefit of the doubt?

Brook is probably a better risk vs reward fight than Eubank Jr.

Excellent post couldn't agree more.Finch wrote:Kell Brook really needs to take stock of his promoter here.
Brook clearly had the balls to fight legit fighters, but to get thrown to the wolves in fighting the best guy on the planet two weights higher is a disgrace on Hearn's part.
This just means that Eddie can't get the big fights at Welter so is sacrificing the lamb to keep Sky happy. Absolute disgrace by Eddie.
Really hope Brook gives a good account of himself but fear a bad defeat impedes his ability to get big title fights at his true weight.
Eddie Hearn hang your head in shame.
