This demonstrates why Pacquiao was fighting the unknown tyro Horn... Instead of Spence.. Thurman.. Porter.. or Crawford -- who would have killed the tyke.
And Mayweather is fighting McGregor instead of Spence.. Thurman.. Porter.. or Crawford for the same reason.
Because this is Professional Boxing -- and it's a business not a sport... right down to the inexpert and amateurish judging and commentating.

Agreed. Something was wrong with Manny from round 1. But I kept telling myself he looked better in his last two fights, especially Bradley.JCS wrote:Hope Pacquiao retires after that performance though. I could tell after the first two minutes that he was shot, by the end of round 2 I was sure of it . I had a mental scorecard of 115-112 Pacquiao. It was a sloppy fight.. I can easily buy the fact that a ringside judge could've went the other way on 1 round.. with 2 not being an immense stretch.
So it's either "old overnight" or he was actually sick.
Round 9 reminded me of Tyson. Just being Manny and wailing like an amateur was still almost enough for the threat of a stoppage.
Can't lie. I was doing laundry during rounds 10 & 11. Only saw the beat down parts of 9. But the fight felt close apart from those rounds. And I remember early on disagreeing with Atlas 2 or 3 rounds. IMO the best punches, including round 9, was Horn's body work.
Still think there should be a rematch though. If Manny wants it, he's earned it.

I'm surprised Freddie Roach is taking it so well.
I was amazed by this decision. Even though counting punches is a flawed art, as the Olympics has proven, I have never, or rarely have seen a no knockdown fight where someone had a 2-1 advantage in punches landed and lost.

Roaches demeanor struck me as odd too. That did not sound anything like Roach normally does. Well the money machine will likely move along now. Another 50-60,000 attendance stadium fight big money Pac wins his title back and retires.Tony1244 wrote:I'm surprised Freddie Roach is taking it so well.

Fair enough. If any site has something like Eye On The Ring, I would expect it to be boxrec. I haven't looked at boxrec recently enough to know what's been added. But Eye On The Ring is different enough than the usual round-by-round coverage in a forum, I think it's interesting in a different way to fans. It's more a place that someone who has a paper notebook of all the fights they've scored would like. Not wanting to step on anyone's toes however, so apologies if I come across as spammy.Tanzio wrote:We have our own RBR section, ZCat.ZoeCatherine wrote:Haven't been around these forums much... just stopping in to add a comment, you guys might like Eye On The Ring, it's a good place to share/store/discuss round by round fan cards. Having the cards to look at makes for interesting discussions. Also a lot of guys like it just as a place to store their cards online.

Not at all. I was just directing you to a decent source of data.ZoeCatherine wrote:Fair enough. If any site has something like Eye On The Ring, I would expect it to be boxrec. Re: Pacquiao robbed AGAIN!
i thought 2 x judges got it spot on. 115 113 for Horn.
Manny had a couple of clear rounds in his favour but even throwing more punches i believed Horn was being more effective.
Either way you look at it and watching each round (scoring each round) I cant see how anyone can call it a robbery. If their is a rematch i would expect Manny to come in a bit more focused.

Pacman fought terrible the judge that had it 117-111 was just another imposter like judge Min from the Danny Green v Anthony Mundine fight that was the last BIG $ fight here no eye blinked an eye lid after that fight but this one was a close fight but certainly not a robbery
