His style was emotional but imo he was an important factor in Sulęcki's corner, he wasn't in Maciej's corner in Culcay and Rosado fights, and Sulęcki lost concentration in both fights, felt too confident late

I believe that Sulecki has a great shot at winning. I'm surprised that everyone else is dismissing him.

What's behind my reasoning? Well, let me start by acknowledging that Andrade is indeed the superior athlete between the two. He's got the reach, athleticism, speed, and mobility to outbox, and maybe even outfight, Sulecki. However, Andrade is a labor intensive athlete who expends way too much energy motoring around the ring. He's got technical weaknesses (throws punches wide from the outside, drops his hands, and pushes with his left-cross too often), and is over-dependent on his athletic gifts to win fights. The downside to a fighters like this is that they're at risk of being fatigued in long, tough bouts against strong, aggressive, determined distance-runners like Sulecki.

I suspect that when Andrade gets fatigued, we'll discover that he's suddenly very hittable, and that he comes unglued. Nobody's put Andrade in that position yet. But in his last fight, Andrade did get popped more than usual by his opponent, Akvakov, in the late rounds. And Akvakov is a heck of lot less speedy, aggressive, and tough that Sulecki.

Sulecki is a tough mofo. He stood up to Danny Jacob's heavy bombs, and Jacobs hits that much harder than Andrade. Although Sulecki is rather rigid and mechnical, he is a quick, persistent, and accurate puncher. His left jab is long and hurtful, and he throws his right with moderate power. Sulecki is quick to duck and evade punches, and never misses chances to swing back at aggressive opponents, mixing his shots to the head and body. Against Jacobs, Sulecki got the worst of the exchanges most of the time. But he kept plugging. In the late rounds, Sulecki was still strong, determined, and aggressive, even in spite of sucking up Jacobs's bombs. That impressed me.

I believe that Sulecki can beat Andrade by running him down steadily over the long haul. Andrade, of course, will be well ahead on points over the first two thirds of the bout. But in the later rounds -- let's say from the 8th round onward -- Sulecki will score with increasing frequency against a tiring, weakening Andrade.

The Pole could very well win this one by late round stoppage, or by flooring Andrade in the final rounds to edge out a decision.

The bout takes place Saturday evening live on DAZN from Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, R.I.

The two stateside fights for Otha Jones III have turned out to be far more challenging than his one fight abroad.

Eight days following a 1st round knockout in England, the unbeaten 19-year old from Toledo, Ohio was given a much stiffer challenge from Argentina’s Matias Arriagada (6-5, 3KOs) in a six-round decision victory.

Scores were 60-54—not quite reflective of the action—in favor of Jones III (3-0, 1KO), who has now gone the six-round distance twice within his first three fights as a pro.

Jones III was sharp with his right hand in the opening round, catching Arriagada on the temple and drawing several oohs and ahhs from the early bird crowd. His overwhelming desire to score an early knockout, however, led to several sloppy moments and loose defense, which Arriagada did his best to fully exploit.

The Argentine boxer had a solid round two, catching Jones III far more often than would be expected of a blue-chip rookie prospect. Of course, these are the fights his team seeks on the way up, as evidenced by his being aggressively matched in his pro debut less than four months ago. Jones adjusted quick enough to bank rounds—all of them in the eyes of the judges, apparently—and seize control down the stretch.

Raymond Ford lived up to his “Savage” nickname, making quick work of Mexico’s Isidro Figueroa (1-1) in their featherweight preliminary contest. A left hook to the body delivered a one-punch knockout for Ford (3-0, 1KO) at 1:21 of round one.

Ford, a 20-year old newcomer from Camden, N.J., signed with Matchroom Boxing USA earlier this year following a brilliant amateur career. He made his pro debut this past March in Philadelphia, having gone the four-round distance on that night as well as his second fight his past May in Nottingham, England.

Shelly “Shelito’s Way” Vincent emerged victorious in what she insists was the final fight of her eight year-career. The 40-year old Connecticut-bred featherweight scored an eight-round decision over Brazil’s Simone Da Silva (16-13, 6KOs).

Scores were 79-73 (twice) and 78-74 in favor of Vincent (25-2, 1KO), who is best remembered in the ring for her pair of fights with Heather Hardy.

Their first fight in 2016 was among the year’s fiercest contests, with the two going to war in their NBC Sports Network-televised slugfest. The rematch came with far higher stakes, but was less competitive as Vincent dropped a 10-round decision to Hardy in their vacant featherweight title fight last October live on HBO.

Local middleweight Anthony Concepcion (4-0, 4KOs) wasted no time in the evening’s curtain raiser, scoring a 1st round knockout of Miami’s Yasmani Pedroso (2-7, 1KO). A right hand shot put Pedroso down and out at 2:02 of round one.

Jones looked like crap.

I'm interested in the DeLuca fight. His opponent is undefeated, but -- to me at least -- is unknown and hasn't fought more than a handful of foes with winning records. I wonder what's going on with that bout. Is it supposed to be competitive, or is it an easy stepping stone fight for DeLuca?

Andrade has 2 12th Rd stoppages recently. Doesn't have the look of someone that will come unglued and tire against a solid aggressive fighter with no power.

I question if the Akvakov stoppage was legitimate. The referee stepped in pretty quick, IMO.

He won't likely stop sulecki either. I've turned it off now. The problem with boxing is I had two undefeated middleweight belt holders facing guys with no chance at the same time instead of each other. Meanwhile the UFC has a ppv worthy main event on ESPN.

andrade is just frustrating, he comes straight out unloading and immedaitely drops sulecki in round 1, and yet now 7 rounds later all hes done since is just prance and peck. hes way ahead but a hard watch

Awkward moves, side position, southpaw stance, longer reach, and what surprised me, faster hands, thats too much for solid but rather stiff and robotic Sulęcki, Andrade's also physically stronger and better athlete. Never seen Andrade in better shape, he really has a chance against the top.

Terrible fight, I wouldn’t blame anyone for ducking him. Saps the life out of the viewer, imagine the opponent.
