Itauma will move as quickly or as slowly FW wants him too.

I've got a feeling that as long as he maintains his motivation that he is the future in the heavies, a special talent,

Let's see, I'm excited, he hasn't stepped up yet

However he was sparring well against the top boys as a 15 year old on his way back from school.

A lot will come down to how disciplined he will be once the money comes. I can’t say I’ve watched him and thought this guy is going to be great, of course he is decent but as others have said he hasn’t really been tested yet. The jury still out for me at the moment.

Looks good enough to be legit. but chin and disaplin is et to be tested... If he is chinny he wont make it, and if he goes off the rails the second he has 100k in his bank he wont make it.

I do say he dosent give me a chinny vibe, pretty compact little unit... and he looks boring as fornicate, so doubt he lacks disaplin.

Apparently not only was he sparring but he was beating up some of the country's top HW's when he was still at school, that's insane stuff. If he keeps his head on his shoulders he could rule the division for a long time.

Yeah but how many times did Bakole knock him out?

If he was this monster battering top names years ago I feel they would match him more ambitiously than they have been doing.

There's endless sparring legends, until he's tested the jury's out.

He looks very well schooled something you don’t really see with Heavyweights. I think if him and fisher meet next it would come to light very quickly who the hyped up ticket seller is vs who could possibly be a big name in the division.

He's beaten no one with a pulse yet. Dempsey up next, but he himself has beaten no one.

Dempsey was competitive enough v Hrgovic, I think it's a good fight for Moses.

Moses needs rounds, Wach should have guaranteed round but lost in 2, Dempsey should guarantee rounds too, a higher quality rounds, so hopefully it's not going to be an early night

If so Moses will be needed to be chucked into world class just to get rounds under his belt!

Alex Povetkin in his first 10 fights fought Friday Ahunanya, David Bostice, Richard Bango, Ed Mahone, Imamu Mayfield. After that it was Larry Donald and Chris Byrd then an eliminator versus Eddie Chambers. Kubrat Pulev in his first 10 fought Matt Skelton, Dominick Guinn, Gbenga Oluokun, Paulo Vidoz, upset merchant Zack Page etc.

I'd say that is ambitious match making that demonstrates a team that is highly confident in their prospect. Moses' match making by comparison is dismal, especially for someone their touting as the man to break Tyson's record as youngest champ. With this opposition, Moses is more lost in the wilderness than battling Pharaoh and the plagues.

I trust you all enjoy a biblical reference on a Thursday afternoon.

Povetkin was 25 years old and World and Olympic champion (well over 100 bouts) when he turned over.

For a teenager with no senior bouts fighting Dempsey Mckean now shows plenty of confidence.

Bakole hit him so hard that Moses’ brother Karol collapsed as well.

FW has always matched his fighters tough if he feels they have the level.

19 is ridiculously young for a hw. most arent done developing until late 20s at least - these days maybe even older. for a guy still just 19 and 1 year pro i cant complain. mckean next is a solid step. going into 12 with hrg , stopping johnny rice arent bad for this level. a big guy who can move a bit.

sure there have been others moved faster, but compared to most he's had a more ambitious start at a younger age. dubois had an early start himself and still wasnt even a pro until the age moses is now

Some people develop bodily far earlier than others and Moses seems to be one of them, he may find his strength plateaus out as his growth stops and he doesn't develop any further

that is true too. it's like the people who acted like hughie fury would be some beast by 30 since he was fighting for a world title at 22

This. I watch a lot of youth boxing and Moses is so much more developed physically than all his peers.

FW got it wrong putting DDD in with Joyce, but he doesn't get it wrong much, he is backing Moses because he believes in him, FW isn't a big risk taker.

They wouldn't be matching Fisher v Dempsey

Yeah there’s so many religious types here on the British forum……

I do remember when Pulev was starting out he was moved much quicker than I’d seen before. There was a group of American posters who loved the upcoming German and East European prospects, Bidenko, Virchis, Dimitrenko, Pulev and so on. Pulev was the cream of that crop to be fair and as mentioned had a steep rise before getting to European champion/World title challenger sort of level.

Joshua has about 40-50 confirmed ko losses in sparring. Every British heavyweight seems to have ko’d him at some point.

I think Dempsey is a great fight for Itauma at this stage. Good matchmaking. I don’t know how anyone can have a problem with that fight.

lol  but honestly I’ve never known such a successful fighter have so many claims to have been kod in sparring  (Having said that, I didn’t believe the Dubois story, but I definitely do now :OhYes: )
