And just like Kayser Soze, Fury was gone.
The greatest trick that Fury ever pulled, was convincing the world he’d fight Usyk.

How about this for preparing to back out of the Uysk fight speak from Fury's team:
Todd deBouef: " I haven't felt any of the parties involved, that were ready to do this in December, going in a different direction other than going forward.
Now we are just trying to fine tune some of this, the date and everything like that. I think there's a promise, there's a glimmer of hope out there, a big glimmer, that this will hopefully come to fruition".
That's quite a different tone from pre Ngannou fight.
My guess is that since Fury got turned over by Ngannou, they know for certain now that Uysk would smoke Fury.
Fury is done.
What a shame for Joshua that he didn’t have the cojones to get in the ring with him.

It's a shame that you can't post about anything else. How about we discuss Kenshiro Teraji in another thread?

It ain't happening this year, the duck is already in.
Probably drag it out next year, then retire to social media where he will reign as king.

Don’t be silly. Usyk needs to get Fury’s scalp to get full credit as the best heavyweight of the generation.
Yes I agree - Usyk needs to beat Fury before someone else does next and the undisputed gets even further away.
fWank will no doubt be panicking about how much longer the WBC allow Fury to stall before they strip him, or who fWank can get to take the title off him to have some longevity at the top table.
It's not just Fury's days at the top table coming to an end, fWank's days are too. He thought he had a solid prospect in Dubois to keep him there - but Dubois turned out to be very very fragile and not going anywhere.
Fury will be stalling to line up another Netflix series - fWank will be stalling to sign up another prospect ..
For me, the four belts are irrelevant. The winner of Usyk-Fury is
the man regardless of which belts are on the line.
I don't think that's the case anymore though.
IF they had stuck with the idea that Ngannou was an exhibition. Then fine, whatever. But they pushed and pushed that this was a real fight, even going so far as to get Frank calling in favours with the BBBoC to sanction it. So people are going to judge it as such. In which case Fury was made to look bad, really bad, by a guy on his debut.
Fury can't claim to be top 2 after that shit show.
Usyk is the champ.
And it's Zhang who is the #1 contender at this point.
You could switch in Hrgovic if you wanted (depending on who you think won their fight)
Usyk v Fury is still necessary, though. But it is more Lewis v Briggs than Holyfiled 2. Everyone already knew Lewis was the man, beating the Lineal Champion Briggs was just the tying up of lose ends. People just want to see an undisputed champion, I get that, but it's not #1 v #2 anymore

I wonder if Fury will avoid the ‘I’m retired’ thing because he obviously struggled to get even halfway fit for this fight. Another year out not living the life, and I suspect he’s intelligent enough to know they’d be no coming back from that physically at his age.

i think you're starting to see the effects of father time and 3 x fights with wilder the fights the build up to whyte was weird and think whyte's shot as is chisora, fury might of been fit enough to fight but certainly don't believe he trained like he was challenging for a world title , i hope the fight still can be made i reckon though if it hasn't happened by march it will never happen

Yes presumably the promoter and Fury calculation will be can we get away with another cash grab or is the bubble burst with the Saudis if they don’t get Usyk v Fury?

Good point.
Also, Fury is a talker and will say it doesn't matter if he doesn't fight Usyk or even Joshua - however, when he is lying in bed at night he will know the truth

If the rumoured PPV numbers are true, Fury is finished in more ways than one over in Saudi land.

The guy looks shot to bits.
Not fought a meaningful opponent since early 2022, and it's the Ricky Hatton lifestyle on repeat now.
If he gets in the ring with either Zhang or Hrgovic he takes an L.
Usyk dog walks him.

Only 67,000 US PPVs apparently .. hardly the big US star after all
