Will Fury duck Usyk?

Post by ALI »

Fury put out the date of December 23rd.

We all know Usyk is down, he is ready to fight him anywhere, anytime.

Going on Fury & Warren's imediate post fight interview, they're already wriggling on the 23rd December date. Will that little nick Fury had be the excuse to delay the fight? Will the fight ever happen at all? If yes, when? Or is Fury going to duck him? Its hard to imagine after all this hype he could possibly duck him, surely not, but this is boxing after all, and Fury is very much his own man, he will do as he pleases with no fcuks given.

Pre last night i had Fury beating Usyk, but after that performance against Ngannou, i think i've already changed my mind on that.

He is 35, perennially out of shape, not been interested since the third Wilder fight, has lots of money and a family and is going to make far more money fighting Ngannou again or fighting other celeb types like WWE wrestlers or Olympic shotputters - like I said in another post, if he could get away boxing a bear, he would and people would pay a lot of money to watch it.

He is not going to fight Uysk for relatively chump change - he isn't going to do it at this juncture.

Another thing is the Ngannou fight has completely devalued Usyk v Fury. Surely it’s worth about a quarter of what is was originally. Nobody is going to really believe Fury has much left.

Saudi will have loved the ‘drama’ of last night’s ‘fight’.

They will fund the rematch and everyone secures the bag again.

The only losers are Usyk - and the sport of Boxing.

For what we saw against Ngannou, I hope for him that the bout will be at least the next year

I never noticed your thread before posting this. Having looked at your post now, i can see it had not been posted on for the last couple of days so it would have slipped down, or even off, the front page, hence why i overlooked it.

Still, its not a bad idea to get a fresh perspective on this after last nights sh*t show. Peoples opinions have changed a lot overnight.

I hope not. I voted Q1. Fury should probably rematch Ngannou but considering where we are, let us let him slide w/ his narrow victory and maybe Usyk deserved to be the favorite and now he is the favorite. :TU:

It's happening in December or else it's a breach of contract and Fury will sue Usyk.

“Usyk’s a sausage," Fury told Sky Sports this week. “I expect it to be taking place in December, that’s what I’ve been told, so I’ve got no reason to disbelieve it. Usyk has to fight me in December, doesn’t have a choice. He signed the contract, so if he doesn’t, he’s breached contract and he gets sued. So he doesn’t really have a choice.”

Fury says (massive pinch of salt needed everytime his big gob opens) he had a hard 12 week camp.

No chance he goes straight from that to a proper fight in 8 weeks.

It could happen next year instead, but you cant really trust him to make it happen.

I'm sure there was a clause that only Usyk can be sued

I don't think he will, I do think it will be Spring 2024 though. Unless he rematches Ngannou.

I’m not sure Fury can get out of his silk pyjamas and knuckle down into a proper training camp outside of his comfort zone of Morecambe. He probably needs to graft his arse off for 6 months solid.

The amount of stick Fury and his fanboys gave to Joshua after his rematch with Uysk, and, yet, Fury cancelled his post fight press conference with Ngannou. Joshua, despite being upset and, probably, a bit concussed, showed up to the post fight press conference with Uysk.

The cancelled post fight press conference, his promoters now saying the unification match will be next year, and talk from Dev saying on twitter that he would like to see Fury vs Ngannou again sometime, doesn't inspire confidence in Fury and team wanting the fight with Uysk..

Usyk saying the fight is contracted to happen on December 23rd:

Given Warren's wriggling post fight, he obviously knows they can get out of it easily enough.

Well Fury said he would sue Usyk if he wasn't ready for the 23rd....
