Really enjoying this fight

Both ambitious boxers here to win in style.

Surely Wainwright too seasoned, but by the end of the 5th Horn still has his strength.

horn needs to tighten his defense of the jab, wainright can barely miss with it. doing better evading the power shots

good action in the 7th, each getting in good shots. horn gets wain's attention with some solid body work

Really gutsy effort from Horn in the 7th.

Horn holding up well....I'm amazed he isn't sold out by now. 5 fights under his belt prior to this fight.

really good fight! horn again with good body shots, looked to bother wain a bit towards the end of the round.

Marvelous 8th round. I get over how well Horn is aquitting himself in the fight.

another good round horn, once he started focusing on the body he reasserted himself and is stinging wain

Good ninth round too.

I'm in awe at how Horn is still handling himself. He must have trained his nuts off for this.

I'd have loved to have been ringside for that bout

fight is 10 rounds indeed, ends with horn going after wain on the ropes

horn around the 4th looked like he might wilt in the 2nd half, but instead he improved. the body work stopped wain's rally and did the most damage of the fight

for improvement, horn should work on incorporating more body attacks from the start and defending the jab better. but overall a very nice showing in such a step up. was fast and fit. also stung wainrite more than you'd expect from a 6-0 (1) fighter. maybe there is some power there he can bring out more as he goes on

credit to wainrite too, he showed guts and had nice southpaw jab. at times it looked like he might be able to turn things, but horn stepped it up

That fight sort of went the opposite of how I expected it to go.
Horn came back into it, gutsy guy.

I would have expected Horn to give it a go, then get pulled out by about 5th or 6th round, but great effort from Horn.

Wild celebrations from Horn...and rightly so

what is horn's am background? quite a step up for this point in his career but he managed it well and was the one to come on stronger , despite the lack of pro experience

Superb battle from both boxers, not forgetting Wainwright who also put in an excellent effort.

He was decent Am but more his level of sparring his manager actually really wanted a title next anyway so when it came up jumped at it.

Yeh I think that was a 5k fight. I know boxers who get around that much at this level

Dave said on Instagram that he only sold enough tickets to pay his opponent so fought for free.

we will see, I hope he achieves what his ability dictates, I think there is more left.

I think if he has a serious last run at it and builds up sensibly and stays consistent then he could win the English title or the Commonwealth if it’s vacant and there’s a reasonable level of opponent.

I would like to see him do that - if for no other reason than Dave Allen's from my hometown and he reminds me of various lads I knew when I was young. Allen also showed a lot of bottle by getting in with the likes of White, Ortiz and Yoka when he was young.

He's already had a chance to win the Commonwealth though and blew it when he turned up to fight Lenroy Thomas in a pair of trainers (why would you do that with a title on the line?).

The second Thomas fight, Allen was unfortunate with the cut and the TD, especially as he showed up in decent shape, around 235lbs - which is surely more the weight he should be fighting at.

Is Dave allen self managed these days?

not sure but I don't think it has been contested much, only 3 of the 15 weights for Northern Area title are currently held by anyone https://bbbofc.com/area_titles/Northern
