Thanks Dennis, To answer one question Danny Jacobs missed weigh in due to
over sleeping. I can't imagine some one missing to double checking on him. To this day I still feel for how the poor kid must have felt. I can only imagine. But he did say he learned a lesson about taking responsibility for yourself in those situations and the value of a good alarm clock. By the way Cograts to Both Dannys and Dynomite, they are all good kids and great fighters........Hey I can call them fighters now that they are not amateurs anymore, can't I?

A rose by any color. That was the brain child of whom ever thought that was the way to put a soccer mom face on the sport of boxing. So far It's had a huge impact on the sport as seen by the large number of ivy league school members. Now maybe it's time to try a new strategy of the day, and call us strikers. ....I'll bet you didn't get a notice of that one either did you Mel?
Dennis I think we have her in the crossfire.

Nope - there must be some sort of conspiracy.
Nope - too old for that.Dennis I think we have her in the crossfire.
I got all the stuff from the annual meeting in the mail yesterday. I'll take some time and put it on my web site - probably over the weekend. Nothing earthshattering, just information for those who didn't attend.
Ronny Rios
it's not that we are bitter, trust me we have moved on. The trials were a bit frustrating and anybody that was there knows that Ronny beat Gary. That said why should we stick around for 4 more years?? Untill USA Boxing cleans there act more fighters will go pro or compete for other country's!!!!

Well my first suggestion would be to have more National and International tournaments so more boxers have a chance to be seen and not claim to get "robbed" by more well known boxers. Second i would have training camps for boxers to attend to learn olympic style boxing and not semi-pro boxing. That is the main reason for some of the problems in international competition. Third there has to be a way to make it easier to stay in the amatuer ranks, one way is to have boxing programs in colleges. I was taught from day one to "fight" as a pro and never to box as a amatuer even though I had some sucess I would have loved to train as an amatuer in Colorado or wherever to learn the ins and outs of the amatuer game . But I do think with this class that the USA should get at least 5 medals.boxmel wrote:ctill - what would be YOUR suggestion to USA Boxing to clean up its act?
